Quest 3 preview

Those $49 Zenni lenses are advertised directly on Meta's website, when you add tax and shipping they come to £74, i ordered them earlier.

This seems like a bargain (you might get told off for linking to competitors), i wonder how easy returns are with them and when will they ship it?
Seems like a pretty good price and good that Meta are clearly aware of how important prescription lenses are.

Did Zenni give any indication as to whether they’d be delivered in time for the Quest 3 launch date (10th October) when you ordered given Meta seem to be officially endorsing them?

Tempted to pre order but don’t really want the Quest 3 until I also have prescription lenses as I can’t stand using VR headsets with glasses!

The order email I received from Zenni states "Your order will ship by October 10. Once shipped, your order should arrive in 2 to 10 business days depending on your selected shipping option."
I chose the standard shipping.

I see two deals at the moment but didn't see anything with the elite strap? The double lettered mobile store deal I saw is at £432 now and a disclaimer saying "This is apparently working again if you add a second cheap item to the basket, such as a £1 cable. Note that the T&Cs do now state the code is not valid for the Quest 3 so it's highly questionable whether pre orders using the code will be honoured". It's also just expired though.

There's another deal with 4% discount for £459.99 from a well known never knowingly undersold store and apparently it won't get cancelled and will honour the discount.

Deal with the strap is not bad - basically getting strap for £20 after the £50 bundle discount.

Yeah, I got confused. I see now that Craig was talking about a deal directly on the mobile place whereas I was looking at the other deals site which linked to the mobile place and had a refreshed deal at £432 but no strap and has since expired.

I'm really looking forward to seeing that. The quest pro looked so much clearer despite being the same res at the quest 2. You'd think those same lenses with a higher res display should produce some pretty amazing results.
They are not the same check out Lukas S. / Wolta on the tube he explains why.

This store also comes with a 2 year warranty instead of 1.
Can always fight after a year anyway, product of that value should be expected to last longer than a year blah blah blah... I was a little surprised see that my Quest 2 has a warranty listed on my Meta account, I bought it second hand from facebook about a year ago and the guy had owned it for a while before selling to me, it's showing as in warranty until the end of October lol :D

Just preordered a 512gb version, I had both a Quest 1 and 2 but then sold after a few months.

However I can’t really figure out why, I really enjoyed both but then convinced myself I wasn’t using enough so sold.

Determined to keep this one.

Good to know. Happy to order so long as I can get prescription lenses at the same time as the Quest 3.

Just ordered the 512Gb Quest 3 plus the elite strap and Zenni Prescription lenses

Was there anything interesting in yesterdays Meta livestream? The little bit i watched was just technical jargon about something i didn't understand or was interested in.

Is it right that the Q3 minimum refresh rate is 90hz? No 72, no 80?

That could be an issue for demanding PCVR games.

Looks like it, and I always had micro stutters at 90hz

That said, my 4090 could only manage mid 80s during night races so I tended to stick with 72hz anyway

Hopefully things have improved

Does anyone know if the Quest 3 will do 5Gig wifi? I know it does Wi-Fi 6E but i don't have a Wi-Fi 6E router, i have a standard Sky 5Gig router. I guess it could be time to replace my router.

Pretty sure stuff like that is backwards compatible, you just won't get the extra throughput that 6 offers.
Thx, i think i'll sort out a 6E router as i intend to use wifi a lot with my Q3, but it's good to know in the meantime it should still work.
