Simple question........should I see backlight bleed on a monitor when the pc is off and also the monitor is off but plugged in?

Monitor in question is a Benq XL2430T.

So i'm guessing i have a problem with my monitor as i do......only way to stop it is to unplug the power cable from the monitor and wait a few minutes.

This is my monitor with pc off and monitor off.

Its still in warranty but i just need to know if this is normal?

Think he meant is a standby power led button (not that I can see one in the pic) shining up through a gap in the monitor bezel and across the screen.

Led power button is in bottom right corner which is orange when in standby but off when powered off so shouldn't be any light from the button as it's off.

Benq replied to me saying it could take up to 30mins for the capacitors to discharge but with my monitor it's on all the time after turning off the monitor so will see what they say next.

Fantastic service from Benq - Raised RMA Friday afternoon and replacement arrived today.

Unfortunatley the replacement does the same....grrrrr

Can someone else with a Benq XL2430T please try?

Are you sure that its a different monitor? Did you take note of the old monitor's serial number before sending it back? If its not noticeable when the monitor is on they may not class it as a fault. If it makes no difference in windows or playing games I'm not sure I'd be worried about it either tbh.

Its a different monitor as i had to hand mine back to the courier when they dropped a replacement one off.

When the pc is on i dont have any issues.......its after i power the pc off its like the screen is still backlit. It even does it when the only connection to the monitor is the power cable.

My only worry is that something is on when the monitor is powered off which i never seen before.

Would you be happy if your monitor did this when turned off?

How bizarre. Only conclusion is there must be a small white led inside the monitor that stays on all the time if the monitor is plugged in?

My rog swift has a red led inside that you can see when you look down the top grills at the back. But I'm pretty sure it goes off when turned off normally, and there is certainly no screen glow when it's off on this or any of my other screens.

Just had an update from Benq and they have confirmed that they have managed to reproduce the issue and admit it is very peculiar!

They are currently trying to find a definitive solution so its a case of watch this space.

So anyone with a XL2430T see if its affects you.
