Question about Deus Ex HR code

Just tried to sell a code that i got with my new GPU but it didnt work. Got everything sorted with the buyer. But who do i contact? the place that sold me the graphics card, Sapphire or Steam. The code is saying its 'invalid' as though a digit or digits have been entered wrong. Its not saying the code has already been used. I also tried the code and got the invalid error.

Ive email Stream and the place i bought the card from, is there anymore i can do?

The digits go like this XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Did anyone elses code have that arrangmet? 4 blocks of 4 letters/numbers.

Yes when I got my code it was in that order, but whos to say that the buyer did not already register the code only to turn around and say that it did not work so in theory he/she rips you off and gets a free game??
 
Steam would say the code has already been used in that case. Its saying the code is 'not valid'. Ive also seen his Steam account, unless of course he has more than one, but thats all irrelevant since he seems a nice guy and the whole 'not valid' not 'already activated' thing.

Indeed, if it was already activitaed on Steam it would say so. Best bet is to contact the place you bought the card from i would have thought.
 
Assume you went to the AMD promo website to redeem the code, not trying to put the code straight into steam?

Like it says on the page, contact AMD if there are any problems with the code, Steam or Sapphire (or the retailer) won't be able to help.
 
Uh-oh. So thats the way to do it? If the OcUK email told me to do that i must have missed it. Do i need to do this or the buyer? And does it still work on Steam?

i think its because someone got hundreds of thousands of amd dirt3 codes in plaintext on the amd website so now they take extra precautions with codes
 
I think you are having the same problem that i had with a Dirt 3 code about 4 months ago.

I got the Dirt 3 code to redeem on the AMD website, but it didn't actually tell me to do that anywhere at all, so i thought you just put the code you get in to Steam. I sold it on the MM and the buyer said it wouldn't work when he put it in to Steam. I had to do some research to find out how to actually redeem the code!

It isn't very well explained tbh. If you are not on form it is easy to get confused:p
 
I remember i had to go to nvidia to enter the mirrors edge code to claim it. I know its not the same game but read the info carefully and see where it tells you to enter the code or what to do with it. failing that email ocuk if thats where you bought it.
 
i got a dx code and .. i put it into the amd promo thing and they emailed me a code that worked on steam.. the code on the voucher DOESNT work on steam
