Question about installing Windows 7

I have 2 hard drives. I will be installing Windows 7 on my first Hard Drive, but the second Hard Drive has all of my files, like: Music, Movies, Documents, Pictures, Dreamcast and GameCube Emulators.

I was wondering will the .dll files from Dreamcast and GameCube emulators interfere or even conflict when installing Windows 7.

Thanks for the help

Rule number 1 about installing Windows, disconnect/disable all other hard drives during the install.

Or you could end up with boot files on another hard drive.

But you see, that's just not true is it? If the drive priority is set correctly, and your primary drive that Windows will be installed to is on your primary channel, there is simply no reason that the boot files will end up on another drive?

Although that's the case, some boot files for some reason still ends up on another drive. Was the case for me a couple years back.

It's true enough.

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 onto an SSD but it still decided to put boot files on my secondary HDD.

Luckily it was only a test build and I only realised when I removed the HDD and tried to boot from the SSD alone.

I stand corrected it seems :).

I can honestly say I have never encountered such a problem. So long as my OS drive was the primary disk on the primary channel, I have never ended up with boot files anywhere else. Bizarre.
