Question for football fans

Where are all the Man utd and Chelsea fakes?

One of them is here.

I have only seen Manchester Buccaneers on the Television

I've never been to Manchester as I don't get down South very often

I don't really like blue so I randomly picked a red team and that happened to be the Manchester variety, luckily they have been quite successful in recent times

I also haven't seen you post which "local" team you go and see?

Oh and jog on !

I go to matches at Arsenal in the Premiership, Southampton in the football league and Salisbury City in the non-league (although the latter not for a couple of years, they are charging £12 now which is taking the mick).
It's interesting that you think £12 is too much. Hopefully you'll still be reading this as I'd like tio know what you think is a decent amount to pay to watch a match in the BSP. It's basically the idea behind me starting this thread.

I used to prefer Salisbury's old ground to the RayMac cos you could just walk in for free ;)

Appreciate that ome of you guys play football on a saturday and this really isn't aimed at those who actually go and support the league sides that they support. It's more to do with those who are actively interested in football, pledge their undying love to one of the top five but wouldn't know what their home ground looked like if they drove past it.

There are a good number of well established non-league teams in serious financial trouble and are within weeks of meltdown and it would really help if the people who lived in those towns would actually go out and put money over the turnstile for bread and butter games instead of clamouring with the masses once in a blue moon when the FA Cup comes to town.

I try to go down to see Gravesend and Northfleet (called Ebbsfleet now) as often as I can...I've only been in the UK for 4 1/2 years, but I fell in love with local football. My main team is Middlesbrough, though (even though I live in Kent.)
Good man, I wish more would follow your example. They've benefitted in a way too with the myFC thing and have gained support through that.

Cambridge United or Histon.

Don't go because:

A) Standard of Non-League football is **** poor
B) I prefer to pay for sky and watch La Liga and the Premiership
c) It is too bloody cold in winter

Too many reasons not too go and see the football!

Cambridge City don't even make your list, is that because you don't see below the BSP? Have you ever seen any of them play to make that judgement that the standard is poor or are you just assuming that?

I used to watch every Newport County home game through much of my teenage years, even managing quite a few away matches.

Eventually I became disillusioned with the way the club is run. A never ending cycle of appoint manager, do OK for a bit, have a couple of disappointing results, sack manager, sell 4 or 5 of the teams most influential players, rinse and repeat.

Is that new Newport County or old Newport County? They've got a decent side at the moment and will get better with good home support. You have to rememeber that they rebuilt the club from scratch under the most trying of circumstances (being exiled TWICE) and have done remarkably well to set themselves up for the next step up.

And I know one of their ex-managers personally and he must've had a good six years at the helm before he parted company with them.

I appreciate where you are coming from, you are aiming this thread at the plastic fans, it has been discussed and then re-discussed on several occasions and it ALWAYS ends up being bitter.

Some people just aren't in a position to go and see their favourite team, **** happens, its called life

I have probably been to more Wolves games than most Wolves fans but I would never think to question why they don't go and support them.

always go to Grimsby Town matches whenever I'm back at the Gf's home, they are basically going to be non-league the way they are playing in league 2 at the mo

Durham FC would be my local, don't go because I live in Leeds

I hardly ever see Newcastle play, due to working weekends and living in Leeds, it hurts when people say I'm not a Toon fan, get **** is what I say, just because your in a position to watch/afford footy, doesn't make you a better fan than me.

The new Newport County, since they returned to Newport.

The current side has been doing well for the past couple of months, but before that were terrible. I would love us to finally make the Conference (Blue Square Premier), and it could rekindle my interest, but their have been so many false dawns where we seem to take 2 steps back for every step forward I just cannot see it happening.

Are you referring to Tim Harris? He did well for the club, but also had a habit of shipping out our best players following a few bad results.

We also need to vacate the crap Athletics stadium we play in.

Yeah I know Tim well, he's a good man. If he had the resources available to Dean Holdsworth then he's get County into the Conference, they were trying to talking him into returning "upstairs" during the closed season.

Newport will come good and have done well to stick by Holdsworth. Once he's built his team you'll have some good football to watch.

How come you live in Wolverhampton, do you not go to Man United games?

Every single Man United fan I know that lives around here has probably been to one or two games in their life at Old Trafford.

I would go to Wigan more but I am skint atm and I use to work weekends for years.

I like watching Non-league football! Yes, it's not as good as the premiership or la liga, but if the smaller teams dont get any support, how are they supposed to generate any revenue to get anywhere!

I used to watch my local team quite often, but like I said, I don't get the chance any more. £3 for a couple of hours entertainment isn't to be sniffed at. We're in the 1/4 final of the FA Vase as well, got to the semis a few years ago :o

My family moved down here.

You get me some tickets and I'll go to the games, it ain't as easy as that and you know it, maybe for Wigan games but not MU.

The odd European/Carling cup game is out because I work, its also a 300 mile round trip for me and I don't get back until 12-1 o'clock

When I'm in Manchester for work I go as my office is in Old Trafford, opposite the Kellogg's factory to be precise.

I suppose, atm, my local side is either Liverpool or Everton. I go to see versus Arsenal matches almost every season.

I support Arsenal, from when I was a child. I was never allowed to go to pro footy matches while living at home, and when I moved out I moved to this city making travel impossible to afford on a regular basis. Also when at Highbury, tickets were impossible to get and it's still not easy now.

I have never seen Gillingham play (nearest league side to where I'm from, but still a fair distance away). Though I have seen Ashford Town play a few times years ago.

Oh and jog on !

:D

I love that saying & so appropriate in this case an all.
I am a fake Chelsea fan as I haven't been to one single game in years & couldn't even name half the squad these days.
You can ignore the fact that I have supported them for 39 years of course & how many games I may have been to in the past or whether i travelled & stood.
Yep I'm a fake fan  + :D + :p

Shoots & scores a Hattrick of rolleyes smileys in one day, An epic performance from the new number 7 (crowd goes crazy shirt over head moment replay replay replay)

I go to more Brentford and Yeading games nowadays for family reasons but it's just for that, I can't in any way get excited by watching any other team other than my team so why should I bother more than I need to?:)

Similar to me, I support them as I was born there and most of my family still live there. It's just too far to drive from Leicester to Newcastle and back again, then there is the cost of the ticket and food/drink while I'm there. It's not economically viable.
