Hi
I wondered if anyone had experience with something like this and might think of something else to try;
I bought one of these
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-052-BT
Which is an Icy Box IB-3221StU-B, just a 2 into one USB JBOD enclosure. And a new 1TB WD Caviar Green (OEM, unformatted) to go inside it.
Try as I might I cannot get the PC to see the drive in the disk manager in my computer in order to format it. Its not got the wrong name as I checked for that, its just not there in the list.
I've tried different plugs, having it as the only USB device, putting the HDDs in different trays in it, powering it up and down etc. I can hear the HD spinning up but then the little indicator light showing the HDD is there goes off and it does nothing else.
There is an entry in the manual about setting jumpers to effectively throttle it down to 1.5GB from 3 which I can do in position 5/6 on the WD according to its sticker, which I'd try but it didn't come with jumpers. So while they send me some (which is nice of them) I wonder if anyone had other ideas?
Thanks
Edit: Disk manager not drive manager. Apologies.
