I currently have a 1TB drive, split into 4 partitions :
C: is 65GB and has Windows 7
D: is 25GB and has Windows XP (English) for some development purposes
E: is 15GB and has Windows XP (Chinese)
F: is the main data drive for all my work / other stuff.
I intend to buy a 160GB SSD (probably OCZ). I want the same 3 OS partitions and 1 'Core' partition for certain work spreadsheets which I use a lot and take ages to open on my conventional drive, plus some games. I will continue to use the HDD for my remaining photos, music, etc.
I only mainly use Windows 7. I use Windows XP sometimes for work, and playing the odd game where I've had issues running under Windows 7. Chinese XP is hardly ever used. My girlfriend uses it when I'm away on business with the laptop, but she only looks at the odd internet page and uses a MSN type thing.
I understand that only Win7 supports TRIM, but since I will be mainly using Win7, I don't really see this as an issue.
I've tried searching this forum, but I'm seeing contradicting information about partitioning. Or exactly the order I should do everything when I first receive the drive.
Do you think it's possible to do what I plan?
