I have a PC running XP Home SP2 which I have installed VMWare Server on.
How secure will the host PC be from anything running or getting downloaded on the virtual PCs?
I am thinking from the point of view of viruses, trojans etc that may infect the host PCs data.
I am not bothered if the virtual PC gets infected as I can just recover it. Having said that it would have software antvirus and firewall installed, as does the host PC.

If you are going to connect the virtual PCs to the net or your LAN just treat them as you would any other PC/Server from a security viewpoint and you should be fine. E.G Windows updates, AV, Antispyware, Firrewall ............

Or you could create a Virtual netowork only betwen the Virtial PCs and not allow them to access the Net / your local lan etc. then this would dramatically reduce the risk

Thanks.
At least one virtual machine would be publicly available as I want to test something from work so it would be open but firewalled - if I set it up right :)
Don't want to compromise the host machine though whilst I am testing.
