hey guys so im going to have a 700d along with around 6 case fans, was wondering if im meant to plug them all into the motherboard to power them up? (do they even have enough fan slots?) or is there some other way?

thanks

The 700D comes complete with 3 140mm fans and space for 3 120mm fans. Research the mainboard you are interested in to see how many fan headers there are on it. Someone has mentioned fan controllers.

Some motherboards may have multiple fan headers but only allow control/speed reduction through one. I think most people use fan controllers these days.

I paid £5 for mine off the auction site. It's just a floppy bay sized thing that controls 4 fans.

Temp sensing ones cost more and so do blingy ones.

Ocuk do a cheap one but last time I looked it was out if stock.

the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R says this

1 x 24-pin ATX main power connector Connectors
1 x 8-pin ATX 12V power connector
1 x floppy disk drive connector
1 x IDE connector
8 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors
2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors
1 x CPU fan header
3 x system fan headers
1 x power fan header
1 x North Bridge fan header
1 x front panel header
1 x front panel audio header
1 x CD In connector
1 x S/PDIF In header
1 x S/PDIF Out header
2 x USB 2.0/1.1 headers
1 x IEEE 1394a header

so for a h50 with push pull, and 3 1400mm fans and an extra 2 120mm fans, would i have enough slots there? sorry if i seem a bit dumb ;X

For me Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P:

1 x 24-pin ATX power connector
1 x 8-pin ATX 12V power connector
1 x CD in
1 x Chassis Intrusion connector
1 x clearing CMOS jumper
1 x COM
1 x CPU fan connector
1 x floppy disk drive connector
1 x front audio connector
1 x front panel connector
1 x IDE
1 x IEEE 1394a
1 x power fan connector
1 x power LED connector
1 x SPDIF in
1 x SPDIF out
2 x system fan headers
2 x USB 2.0/1.1
8 x SATA 3Gb/s

Looking at the Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62 Mid Tower Case with Window - Black, includes:

1 x 140mm Blue LED Front Fan (included)
2 x 140mm Blue LED Top Fan (included)
1 x 120mm Rear fan (included)
1 x AMD CPU stock cooler, already on motherboard and plugged in current setup.
