hello,

1) when over clocking do i have to run those applications every single time i increase 5Mhz cuase that will just take a year to get to its highest point wont it?

2) how do you know what temp should i stop at? like if the components can handle more but getting hot what temp should i limit myself to?

3) the begginers guide said increase the FSB and it will increase CPU and Ram speed, so what bout graphics card like the 8800gt

thanks for reading and answering me questions :D

1. You don't have to run 'those' applications every 5mhz but it is advisable to run a small test-say a 10 minute run, to see what sort of stability you have at any given speed. Kepp going until it fails then slowly back off your fsb or increase vcore as appropriate to get it stable keep going until temps become a problem - 60c for AMD, 70c for intel.

2. Answered above.

3. FSB won't effect your GPU, the only thing in your bios that will effect your GPU speed is the PCIe speed. Set this to 100-110. You will need a separate utility called Rivatuner or ATI tool to overclock your GPU in windows.

No problem. I should add that increasing the PCIe will not directly 'overclock' your gpu, more it will increase the possibilities of overclocking the GPU when you overclock it in windows. Think of it as opening a gate and letting a herd of cows trhough - the wider the gate, the more cows you can get through at once and therby the faster the farmer gets home for tea ;)

ok now i know to stop over cloking a CPU when it crashes unstable and hot, but does those programs test how stable the GPU is and temp etc.

Not the gpu no. Only 3d games or 3dmark will test that. All will crash if temp becomes an issue.

=/ i dont like crashing i panic and do stupid things like pull the plug lol i think i probably leave the 8800gt alone and overclock my CPU and Ram only i guess 8800gt is good enough for games today for now....
