Water absorbs the white light from the sun, and scatters it's spectrum. Blue being the colour that stands out again. You need a massive body of water to see this though, hence why the see is blue but our bath water isn't
Small bodies of blue water will be simply chemical, chlorine usually.
Why is the See blue so much darker then the sky blue? Is this because there is more water to absorb more light?
