Their physiology is adapted to live in the cold environment. I don't know exactly but I would imagine they have a well insulated body and their organs and major blood vessels are tucked into their core.

When it's extremely cold they huddle together in a tightly packed group to share body heat. They circulate the group so that every penguin gets a turn in the middle of the warm huddle.

So i thought but then we are talking about -0 degree of cold with part of their feet havin costant contact with the ice.

It was just a discusion i had with a mate about it, and if it is true that they can just :eek: i didnt think it would be possible :eek:

I think their feet are adapted so it doesn't matter to them if their feet are freezing cold, it doesn't affect their circulatory system.
