After much dithering I have this shopping list ready to go. Picked up an Oculus Rift already. Needs to be ITX and preferably in this case.

Appreciate any last minute suggestions...

Case: Thermaltake Core v1
Ryzen 2600
16GB Corsair Vengence LPX 3000mhz
B450 Gigabyte Aorus pro wifi mini itx
WD 500Gb SSD
A 550w psu. Antec offer possibly.
GPU: Looking to pick up a second hand gtx1070@£180 or rx580@£130 that will fit the case.
Monitor: Need option under £100. Ideas?

Comes in at around £480 excluding gpu and monitor.

Son has asked me to add... Any easy rgb options? Tho can't see the point in this case.

Cheers.

Neo G Mini , for £70. Quick Google. Much better case ! Might need AIO thought .
Do a non Vertical GPU version too .

Mobo is solid and UK RMA

Looks v nice. Sadly need to slot into a Ikea kallax unit at 33cm square.

Shame I missed the Antec deal, shall look for another option. Just had to fork out £400 on a new washing machine which has come at a bad time!! Hence looking for a cheaper monitor.

Ok no satellite but need a small PSU like Antec or Focus to make it work with longer cards, and they are also limited to 280mm total length .

Don't cheap out on monitor as you'll have to pay out double to get the benefit of a gtx 1070 even at second hand . That a 1080p 144hz or 1440p 60hz card

Thanks @orbitalwalsh . Should I be getting the FX version which is g-sync compatible? Will get the 2600, should do me fine.

ah yes, doesn't have offical support yet

handy link here - new ones added

also, having a monitor that can do doth is nice, and back down to normal pricing it seems

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £421.68 (includes shipping: £11.70)

get a decent £20 cooler and overclock it to 4.1ghz all cores

Haha, yeah 7 yr warranty Vs 10 I think.
That's the p*sser - it would have been moved onto another spec after ~5 years. It's the 'silent' title, that's got me interested - but looking at spec i think the fan is the same as my Seasonic based Antec (And nobody tell me different!) - plus i have a semi passive mode. I really must unbox it and test it out...
Shame it wasn't titanium rated then I'd have to order one ... A long side a white Base 700...
If you had unlimited resources i think you wouldn't be able to move in your 'man mansion' for pimped out PCs.

You would need disclaimers for visiting epileptics for all your RGB builds :D

Well that's just f'ing A1 fantastic! (heavy sarcasm)
/glances over at 850W Antec box, yet to be unpacked...

Haha at least youve got yours, ive got to wait for my case to come into stock. Its a lovely looking PSU though, if such a thing can be said for a PSU.

It wouldn't see the light of day in my system - but it does look the part.

Finally unboxed the 850 - it really is a FOCUS with a different surround/grill, re-badged bags and ties...

Suns out, baking hot - what better time to strip down a PC :/

Well, it's in - yet to test as it's lunch/Doombar break. I loathe cable management at the best of times - but for the purposes of checking a PSU is taking the **** on such a hot day :/

Not a sentence I need ever type living in Scotland
My brother has recently moved to the other end of the planet, Argyll and Bute area. He's forever sending me picturesque scenes, with the sun blazing away, with otters, seals and the odd blurred pixel which he assures me is a beaver. All in a futile attempt to get me to move over 600 miles. I've always been suspicious that he's become very heavy handed with his use of light filters...

@pastymuncher - is my brother leading me up a very long 650 mile garden path...
