The drivers can go in any order though it best to generally install the motherboard chipset drivers before the GPU drivers.
Great stuff - i've done similar with my kids, and it is enjoyable watching their faces when they press the power button for the first time (or in our case - short the pins as i test out of the case first). ITX, builds are particularly satisfying, once cable management is sorted/managed - stuffed into any available crevice.Enjoyed the build, let my son do most of it which he loved. Only got as far as loading up the Bios screen, but he thought even that was epic. Tbh so did I.
Disable internet, install chipset first, audio, LAN, WiFi drivers etc direct from motherboard manufacturer and the GPU drivers straight from AMD (presuming you have another means of installing drivers to a pen drive). Try and avoid installing any 'suite software' - it's bloatware in disguise unless you really want a feature. Once you have your main drivers installed then enable internet/WiFi - and activate windows and let it update - this will take a few hours. Normally, i would say only activate Critical updates - but you will probably find the auto updates useful until you're more familiar with Windows and your hardware... I would however disallow all Microsoft snoop options when presented with them (personal preference).Hopefully sort out windows and drivers tomorrow evening and check out how well it works. Must find myself a guide for what order to do these in...
Did you unclip the shroud and unscrew/realign the fan? The shroud needs to be aligned perfectly to click back fully.Only niggle at the moment is the cpu fan is making a noise that goes when I hold the surround... wondering if something to do with fact I rotated it? May just remove it entirely.
No worries - it all went relatively smoothly for a first build - and an ITX, too - not the easiest format to play with for a first timer (depending on case). I think your monitor's colour reproduction probably caused you the most concern?..Thanks @Plec and all for the help. Was much more straight forward than I expected.
You probably need to check the box for 'Disable Front Panel Jack Detection' - it's in the top right folder icon located within Realtek Audio Manager.Hi. Back with more question...
All seems to be working fine, except for the headphone jack on the front of the case. I have rechecked the connection to the audio pins and seems ok. Headphones work fine from sockets on motherboard. Are there any settings I need to tweak?
