Hi all,

I'm putting together my first build at the moment and am not sure on what graphics card is better out of the ones i am considering. Please could you guys help me out by telling me which is best or if there is another one I should get around or under the £200 mark. I was looking at the

-Asus GTX 560ti DirectCUII
-Msi GTX 560ti Twin Frozr II
-Ati 6950

Sorry about the grammar/spelling as I'm on my iPhone.

cheers, Ross

Overall the 6950 2GB is better than the GTX 560ti though many people, including me, still prefer the GTCX 560ti.

The MSI 'Twin Frozr' version is a great one, as the cooling system is around 20C cooler (under load) than the standard cooler. And being Pre-overclocked too, its a good buy.

For the same price you would get the Powercolor 6950 2GB, this is not factor overclocked and the cooling isn't as good, though it is still more than satisfactory.

Its just personal opinion. I would go for the Twin Frozr, though the best overall, performance wise is the 6950 2GB.

+1 also bear in the mind the 6950 has 2GB or VRAM, which is useful in some games with very high setttings

So the msi twin Frozr I better than the Asus DirectCUII??

Looking at the prices I would rather get a high quality 560ti than a low 6950.

Yeah, thats why the GTX 560ti is quite popular. Overall the Twin Frozr II is better than the Asus. :)

Though like beejjacobs said above the 6950 has 2GB of VRAM where the 560 only has 1GB. The VRAM extra is good when gaming at high resoluations. What res will you be playing at?

Well if you're not massively bothered about super high settings I'm sure a quality GTX560Ti will do you just fine. They're good cards.

No problem. Enjoy your new card when you get it!

(BTW if you won't be buying for a few months or so, maybe check back here before you buy incase something new has come out or prices have changed :))

The MSI is great, I got the 2GB one and it deals with everything I throw at it without protest at 1920x1200. Extremely quiet if you leave the settings on stock. I overclocked it though. GPU to 900 and Memory to 1200 IIRC - this means the fan spins up a bit after a while in Skyrim but it's not that noticeable.

One last thing if I may chaps, with the GPU fans blowing air down if I wanted to put a fan in the side panel of my case would you put it as an intake or exhaust? . I've got a antic 300 with 2 intakes at the front and 2 exhausts in the top far corner.

I'd see how you go, with the 4 you've got you'll probably be fine. If you wanted a side one, an intake is probably best so the GPU can draw more air?
