Quick Kitten question!

Lots and lots of handling and play Is essential. Do not, unlike myself, let the little devil dominate you particularly where meal times are concerned. Get into a routine that suits you not the kitten.

But most of enjoy what will be a fantastic edition to your household. Do not worry when you find yourself chattering away to your cat you are not mad, it is quite normal though others may well think you odd.

Cat don't NEED to have them. Mine is 5 and never had one. It's also had 2 lots of kittens that we have given away to good homes and not random people of Facebook It would be better to get the injection done soon as but as mentioned if it's not going outside there's no rush. Kittens settle very quickly so don't worry about getting it done soon as you get it and upsetting it.

Why take the chance for a few quid each year for the injections. If memory serves I pay around £27 quid which compared to what I waste on other junk in a year is negligible.

But by all means wait until the kitten is settled and comfortable before getting a bad man to stick a needle in it. My cat is pretty much relaxed about it all now. not overly keen on the travel box but not concerned with the vet.

Heidi:.. runs off and sits at the food cupboard

Yea sounds good guys i will get it done for sure along with an initial check over just to be sure

Do you guys bother insuring?

We were debating 1 or 2 kittens but decided on 1. I hope this doesnt impact the cat too much, his brother has a home now anyway but was in the fence. was just concerned about the costs really.

Reserved a 9 week old kitten to collect on friday! We brought most of the bits over the last month or so and have just been waiting for a kitten to pop up near us and now one has!

So i was just wondering when do i need to book it in for the vet for initial vaccinations? I understand these need to be had around 9weeks which is his current age now. I dont think it would be fair to take him straight away on saturday, would have thought i should let him settle a bit first and maybe book him in early next week? Or would that be too late?

This is the only thing im a bit unclear on, other than that we cant wait! Been looking into it for months so hopefully are prepared :)

Out of interest, do you have a list of kit you've bought for the kittens arrival?

I'm going to be getting one myself in a couple of months, and a list would be no end of help :D

Yea tell you what, i have a leaflet at home with a handy check list on it i will take a photo of it tonight for you, i cant remember all of it :D

We were advised to get the same food they have already been eating which was lucky as the stuff we brought before knowing that is actually what she has been feeding him, toys, litter, etc certain treatments

Ill get a shot later :)

Whilst my cat Millie is awake I chat to her about all manner of things. She is a great listener. Loves it when I do a bit of DIY, always there, in what capacity I am unsure, because helpful she is not.

Don't bother with expensive cat toys. Our now 1 year old cat goes mad for simple things like;
cardboard box
carrier bags
deodorant can lids
ball of wool
