Quick Kitten question!

Yea sounds good guys i will get it done for sure along with an initial check over just to be sure

Do you guys bother insuring?

We were debating 1 or 2 kittens but decided on 1. I hope this doesnt impact the cat too much, his brother has a home now anyway but was in the fence. was just concerned about the costs really.

Congratulations on being a Kitty parent to be! :D

I'll echo everything said above regarding toys etc.. String, box, ideally full of crumpled brown paper from when you order something and it comes in a box 10x too big for your product! Laser pointer, catnip and a throwable toy with catnip in! :D

*Parent head on*

MAKE SURE YOU GET INSURANCE! Our boy has a condition on his feet where his pads go very hard and crusty, we've tried a lot of stuff from feet wraps, steroids, so much stuff & homeopathic treatments which consists of different tablets at about £20 a bottle, of which he's had them changed to try & find the right tablets and must have tried at least £500 worth of them with at least £1500 of apointments etc.. handily covered by PetPlan who have been awesome, all for £8 each for him and his sister.

Please be responsible and do the insurance on said kitty, who I think should be named Henry :D

Having the insurance allows you to enjoy him more with a mindset that if he needs medical care he is covered for it and you won't go broke in the process! All PetPlan require is upto date vaccinations & a dental check (to cover any teeth related issues) every 6 months, which is a simple health check that our vets do not charge for.

*Parents head off*

Enjoy le Kitty & give him a Miaow from me & mine!! :D

Henry could work! Ill suggest :) the winning suggestion gets a thumbs up and my own personal 'Horray!'

Didnt realise insurance was that cheap, will do it. Am i right in thinking they cant be insured until 6mnths? I swear i saw that somewhere?

Out of interest, do you have a list of kit you've bought for the kittens arrival?

I'm going to be getting one myself in a couple of months, and a list would be no end of help :D

Just checked with the gf and I think we insured Ben & Lola when we first had them (9 weeks old). They offer Kitten insurance on 8 week olds+ or 6 weeks old if rehomed or from a approved PetPlan breeder. :)

Kinger, get insurance on that list :)

You can buy all the beds you like but invariably they will sleep in the most oddest of places.

Yeah, why do they do that?

A few weeks back I bought my cat a lovely soft bed from PAH. She seemed interested, then just a few hours later, I found her absolutely soundo over my printer

LMAO. Tell me about it. Mine likes wardrobes, tables, shelves anywhere but the rather comfortable bed I bought her. Gave it away. I think it may have something to do with the fact she loves to sprawl out usually in a very wanton position whereas her bed was more restrictive.

I bought a couple of these things which she loves and put them in her favourite sleeping spots.

Reserved a 9 week old kitten to collect on friday! We brought most of the bits over the last month or so and have just been waiting for a kitten to pop up near us and now one has!

So i was just wondering when do i need to book it in for the vet for initial vaccinations? I understand these need to be had around 9weeks which is his current age now. I dont think it would be fair to take him straight away on saturday, would have thought i should let him settle a bit first and maybe book him in early next week? Or would that be too late?

This is the only thing im a bit unclear on, other than that we cant wait! Been looking into it for months so hopefully are prepared :)

I'm just going through the same thing as my kitten "Bugsy" has just had his first vac's at 9 weeks of age and he is due back at 12 weeks for his second.
