quick one

played COD:MW2 this morning and its sooooo much better than the 360 version, even on my lowely gfx card.

I agree, I got this on the xbox - played about 40 hours worth have stopped playing it and sold it.

Got it on the PC now and must admit I am having so much more fun. Graphically it looks so much better and I don't know I just find the controls so much better also.

ah right fair enough.

what exactly are mmo games? online only games so you play against loads of real people rather than AI?

Massively Multiplayer Online something something something - normally RPG. You know of World of Warcraft? That, though WoW's not really something to start for the first time now - there's a third expansion due/out, but the community's just shaking off the last lingering symptoms before moving on to the next addiction, as far as I can tell. Then again, I neve got into WoW that heavy in the first place, so I may have misread the situation. There are MMOs in many styles now, so shop around.

Imagine how good it would have been if it hadn't been nerfed. The very fact that you now play on PC entitles you to laugh at console gamers, even if you were struggling to hit 20fps on lowest settings. You're with the elite now. Don't forget that.

i was running at 60fps with everything enabled according to FRAPs, although res was only 1024x768.

never really understood WoW, not really my thing.

Im a pc gamer, my last console was the ps2.

I really would love Tekken on pc though, always has been my favourite fighting game serious since i played the first.

Cant spend the money to buy a console just for one game though.

i have got consoles too, and i do like them, but it seems that a pc can offer sooo much more. with ram upgrades, new graphics cards, better processors......being released all the time, surely it would be in their intrest to make games, and show them off in their full potential. the ps3 supports BR so the games can be bigger or in higher quality and graphics are supposed to be amazing, personally, i havent noticed too much difference between my ps3 and xbox 360, but have noticed a huge difference between both consoles and my reasonably low spec pc. just makes no sense why game companies dont do a decent version of the game for the pc.

Didn't you know? Nobody has a PC faster than a PS3. There's actually some good points in that thread about specialised hardware, points that go way over my head but essentially mean game developers are able to squeeze a lot more out of the hardware in a console than they could from a similarly-specced PC. Also, certain games like fighters, driving sims & sports sims don't gel with keyboard & mouse control, but that's just a matter of finding the right game controller - I've got a decent joystick (can you imagine trying to play Freespace on a console? *shudder*) and once I get a decent gamepad, there's not really any games I'd want on console rather than PC.

i never said that my pc was faster/better than a ps3, i was just stating that for the money and hype around the ps3 over the 360 i cant really notice any difference in game quality, yet when i played fifa2010 on both ps3, xbox 360 and on my pc i found that my pc seemed to be a better quality than the other 2, it also had more features, likewise i found that COD:MW2 looked and played a lot better on my pc than my 360, so maybe consoles are capable of more than a pc, but in my personal opinion i found my pc to be noticably better on the games i have been able to compare.

I always forget how hard it is to get across the sarcasm inherent in my posts, thus:

Edit: From the stats you're running MW2 at, your computer is more powerful than a PS3.
