Quick question about blu-ray

I have a lesson with the head of games development, now it was his job to overlook all these things before coming to teach so he'll be more than aware, if I remember I'll ask him at the end of class, he knows far more than I do about this. The guy is a genius, though his brother is absolutely phenomenally intelligent (and head of computing at Teesside :o ), and actually has a doctorate in Video Games. Matthew Holton, PhD! *jealous*.

Ahhh, good ol' Matthew. I remember him. What year are you in? What the name of the course this year? Just remember, you'll find things are different in the real world!

To be honest, to find out, you would need to ask people currently employed in the games industry doing (ideally) 360 games. There is rather a large difference between what I learnt at Uni and real game dev.

We've just had a massive influx of new staff straight in from the industry, seems odd seeing new names on my timetable.
I'm on my final year at the moment.

Cool, the Uni was always real short of staff, esp ones who had actually worked on something game related.

Yeah, they have all worked in game related areas now, they had them spread all over as of 2004/2005 but in 2005/2006 they split the course into really defined area's, so instead of just 'Design', 'Visualization' and 'Animation' you have 'Games Design', 'Games Art', 'Games Animation', 'Creative Visualization' and several others. So you now have only lecturers and tutors who have been involved in exactly what they are teaching... when they can be ***** coming in.

On a side note, I was chatting with Michael Holton (Matthews brother) and I totally forgot to enquire. Sorry.
