Quick question about memory comparability.

try it first but as shivy said it might not be happy/stable,i tried running some ocz reaper ram on my z68 board and it worked but was unstable and a fair amount of voltage tweaking didn't cure it,i ended up buying a dual channel kit designed for z68

you can try it and see,it might run fine,if not sell your old kits(they command a decent price atm tri channel)

If you have 6 sticks I would consider saving your cash and simply using 4 in that board and selling the other 2. 16GB of memory should be more than enough for the vast majority of tasks.

Yes. The thing is I used to be a quality assurance tester and spent a lot of time with many VMs open. Now, i'm not so I don't need it so much. Now my PC is used for programming and gaming, so I don't need much memory capacity, but the speed matters more.

those corsair will work, are these anygood?

could try your existing ram first before you buy new? upto you

I figured I have to sell some of my current memory as it is 6 cards and I have only space for 4, so I might as well sell it all together.

The memory you linked to looks good and is a bit cheaper than the Corsair memory. However (and I know this is probably bad of me to think like this), every time I have bought corsair I haven't had a problem. My PSU, memory and case have lasted years without a problem. As soon as I strayed, I had 2 faulty PSUs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFnTDPJL1y8) and some faulty OCZ memory (Which had to be RMA'd 3 times, shipping to the Netherlands each time). Part of me just trusts Corsair, although it's probably irrational.

its your pc,teamgroup are good ram though, havnt seen any isues with it

whatever you like the look of best,i was just thinking same performance for less money

Team group are a well established manufacturer of high quality ram. Got a set of the Vulcan red myself and have been very impressed with them.

If you are intent on selling your existing ram, check out the ram in the link.

Hmm, thats not bad at all. I'll have a think about it today, I also have to find a buyer for my 24gb triple channel memory.

I know I just got stung on a few bad units, everyone said the super flower PSUs were great and the ocz gold I had, just unlucky. I actually like that these have been used and tested, so they shoudnt have any problems. I'll have a think.

Just put it down to bad luck. There are quite a few members on here who have had problems with Corsair products. There is always the change of getting a duff or DOA product from any manufacturer.

I'm a bit confused, does that motherboard support quad channel memory? I bought it along with an i5 4690

Thanks,

Its the memory controller which determines how the ram operates, whether its dual, triple or quad channel mode.

The 4690 is dual channel.
