Quick Question for AMD/Nvidia user

Yep that was a strange one, blood dragon was perfect, while running the same engine as the broken fc3. This was about the same time everyone called bs on ubi blaming drivers, fc3 was fixed shortly after :P

Makes you wonder how they think they can blame drivers when both amd and nvidia are telling them the game is broken..."nah, those experts are talking crap, what do they know"

I got a lot of stick for boycotting Ubisoft games because they're a 'Nvidia partner'. Truth is, that has nothing to do with it. I'm just fed up of playing their broken and unsupported games.

I don't believe it either :D You didn't like the look of Batman either :p

Although you're right. The last two or 3 games that have come out of Ubisoft Montreal have been really bad. AC4 still isn't fix.

Whilst on the subject though: http://www.pcgamer.com/uk/2014/08/14/ubisoft-promises-to-do-better-by-pc-gamers/

Far cry 3 didn't support sli for like a year lol

There was a fix which involved changing a 1 from a 0 in Inspector ;). Bit late telling you this now I know lol

I really want to believe Ubisoft with their promise but im sure they promised to make better pc games before and i still haven't seen them deliver!
It's a shame because i like a lot of their games

Farcry series, Assasins Creed series, Splintercell series.
Wanted to play Watchdogs till i saw how broken it was and really want to play The Division too but im scared this will be a poor produce too.

Does it still die a stuttery painful death when physx is enabled?

I think that was partly what the SLi profile changes fixed. I don't recall having any issues with PhysX though (least not in FC3, AC4 is another sorry story entirely)

Frame rate just used to drop massively whenever there was anything happening on screen

hmm tough decisions, you guys always change my mind

so Titan/290X/880/Other...

I had this choice to make recently.

It depends on what you want. If you want the best overall experience then go with Titan. I got two, just to make sure I was ready for 4k.

Titan Black does not have the shine the regular Titan had but it's still a very fast card with 6gb vram.

290x. That's the cheapest way to 'get there'. I still prefer Nvidia drivers to AMD, even though I own both. It took about seven months to find a decent AMD driver and by then it was too late, I'd had enough.

What also annoyed me was that I have Windows 8, don't like 8.1 and AMD have stopped supporting Windows 8 already.

880. Should basically be a cheaper 780? it's around the same sort of spec. Don't expect it to blow away anything currently on the market.

Right now a TB can be had for around £600. That's still very expensive, but, due to the vram it will last twice as long as a 780 3gb. The issue with these new cards (IMO of course) is not the overall power it's the vram. 3gb will soon be outdated I feel, so it works out cheaper in the long run to go Titan if you don't obsessively upgrade.

Not necessarily cheaper in the long run, it depends on the scenario, for most it will be more expensive.

2X7950=£380, way faster than Titan, then I got £320 back which paid for an unlocked 290(X)(for new features)=Titan performance.

2 of those 290's unlocked would have been anything from £80-£180 cheaper than a single Titan with about twice the grunt=more playable@4K than a single Titan that can't push fast enough frames to fill the buffer.

Obviously the 4 Titans comes into the argument-but I can count on one hand the amount of 3/4 way Titan users here and still have a few fingers left to stick up in defiance.
