Well I'm looking at getting a new car and have found one I like. Thing is being a complete noob, I'm not sure if this rust is serious or just standard?

If someone could tell me that would be great. I personally think that its just cosmetic weathering but if someone could give an opinion that would be great :)

Cool thank you :) I was looking at the orangeness of the metal and assuming it was rust?

As I said I'm a noob when it comes to buying cars so just wanted clarification.

Lower arms have a good coating of rust, pretty normal on an older car though. They can rust badly enough to fail an MOT on some cars so make sure it's only surface rust.

Doesn't look all that bad, to be expected for a uk car exposed to salt all through the winter. Bolt on parts are nothing to worry about anyway, worry about rot on the body.

Its completely normal for any car a few years old, and will happen to them all unless not driven and kept in a garage.

If I got it, I'd spray the rusty areas with hammerite rustproofing. Depends how long you intend to keep it.

i cant see anything a drip of scotch wont suort out for you :)
