Quick question regarding MSI Afterburner

Does it need to be loaded for the overclock to initiate, or is it a case of once set I don't need to have it running in background?

you just need to apply your OC settings then you can close the program and the settings will stay untill you restart your system.

If you want to run a custom fan curve setup in AB,the program has to be running for it to work.

It needs to be running in the background as it's the software that forces the changes to clock speeds etc if you don't want it running in the background then you need to look at modifying the cards BIOS.

In settings you can have AB start with windows and also have OC settings applied once the programme loads but you need to turn those options on. By default it will revert to stock clocks once the system restarts.
