If it's that much of an issue to you, ask her to contribute to the cost anyway.

I really don't see how her getting 'free' insurance could be a bad thing :/

its not that she is getting free insuarance that annoys me, its just that i dont think its fair that males all get tarred with the one brush, if my brother was to come on to the insuarance it would be sky high.

i think that if cheaper insuarance was offered it would make people think twice about how fortunate they were and would try and keep the price as low as possible

"I'm driving slowly today as a thankyou to my benevolent insurers who have allowed me this cut price policy"

You really think that knowing the 'limits' of the car and knowing when the back end will step out makes you a safer driver? I'm quite sure the majority of women have absolutely no idea of these things.

I know that there are exceptions, but statistics dont lie, and thats what the insurers will follow.

and follow they will, but i think its ridiculous that right from the word go, im getting treated like any other young male on the road...

Why, because they have no desire to push a car anywhere near these limits.

i wouldnt say that now, i know some crazy women drivers, get together on a sunday night for the local meet and race around town centres on the wrong side of the road with their cars heavily modified and dont get charged the same as males

What are you talking about?

sorry about my really bad english  everyone else can understand it. point i was trying to make is that women drivers can just as 'bad/reckless' a driver as males

This is true, but you dont seem to realise that insurance does not work on individual cases.

yes but if they are not individual cases then why does the opposite sex get let off with the heavy price tag.

think of it as this: man and woman, the man being targeted as being the individual we are getting singled out, there are rules for one and rules for another. there should be an accross the board one 'rule' for all as lets face it, post no. 26 says it all, so much for equal opportunity

Its all down to statistics mate, an insurance company doesnt really have anything else to go by does it?

Yes they can, but the averages and histories don't say that. They say it is statistically less likely that a woman will cause as much damage/expense as a man.

As said already, you have no argument. Thread closed as requested.
