Just checking that this spec's alright before a friend orders it

He doesn't really want to stretch the budget anymore than that but any improvements would be welcome

Also he doesn't want an ssd despite my attempts to convince him otherwise

You dont need the two extra fans for that case.

Get the retail CPU, Has longer warranty and a nice box and stock heatsink which is useful if you want to sell it on.

Looks good, I am just about to order something similar.

I have been told to look at the "Gelid tranquillo or Corsair A50" for a 2500k. Might be worth looking at

He's not got a keyboard no, but I don't want to recommend one considering I got one on recommendation and hated it so much that it's basically unused.
About the coolers you were saying to look at I thought the silver arrow was the best going?

It is, in Gregry254 he was told to switch from a Akasa venom to one of the cheaper equal coolers mentioned.

i would change the board for a z68 newer for a little more ££
