Just been having a good read on the best SSD to get. I think I have decided on the Crucial C300 as it has the higher read speed due to the SATA 6Gb/s.

Am I right in thinking this would be better than one of the SATA 3Gb/s SandForce drives?

There are several new drives coming out, such as the C400, Intel G4 and OCZ Vertex 3.. so I would wait for one of those if you can afford them.

I know, I was reading that they were coming out but I have been waiting a few months already waiting for new hardware to come out before building a new PC and I am looking at ordering it next week.

Don't really want to wait much longer if at all, and it would be a pain having to set up windows twice if I put the system together and then get the SSD.

I am coming from an old Seagate Barracuda 500 GB so I am pretty sure what ever I get will give me a decent speed boost.

I just wanted to order what ever was the fastest out of the budget drives OCUK has in stock now.. :)

You may curse yourself when the new gen comes out. If they are priced competitively, we should see the older generation priced cheaper. But I suppose, for a £10... Might as well go now. I'd take the C300 or the Vertex 2E.
