Quick Uni budget questions...

Are you 100% sure that doesnt include rent as that's more than someone doing full time hours @ minimum wage (after tax) doesnt see right!

Also £2600 payment - £1535 rent = £~1k or £72ish a week makes much more sense

This is central London. I live 60 miles away. My parents are divorced and my Mum earns around £24,000 (I think, not sure but i know it isn't a lot). I'm going to scan a page up when i get the scanner working.

I wasn't aware it's a lot compared to other people and i'm going to inquire about the rent but i know i have 2 pay days set up in Feb and May.

Roehampton.

I get £150 after i pay my rent to live off which is why i have been working all summer full time to try and save at least some money for Uni, this will still not be enough so am also looking for work during uni.

Ohh, that £150 is for a year!

Those payments in Feb and May aren't your rent, they're your tuition fees. Your rent will be separate.

£28 a day, how can you NOT live off that? Unless you're an idiot that wastes it getting ****** all the time, like most students seem to.

Oh you get a grant :(

Free money :(

Even with the grant he's still gonna have a 24k debt after uni with those loan figures.

Also when did you recieve that document? I haven't got mine yet ;/

You won't see anything of that £1535 (£3070) or be expected to pay any of it [yet] as that's your tuition fee loan; the SLC will pay that direct to your University on those dates and the amount will be added to your loan balance.

As said above, if you struggle to live on that amount over the year you're either having too many dinner parties or are absolutely useless at managing money :p

Seen as we're on the subject why don't we tally up the weekly costs?
Not including rent as that will vary depending on area we've got....

Food - £20
Phone - £7 (going on a monthly contract of around £30)
Travel - £10
Bills - £10?
and then there's going out/cinema/restaurant's etc.. general luxuries.. is £50 fair?

perhaps factor in something for birthdays perhaps... say £20 pm.. £5pw

Giving us a total of around £100 per week.

Now edit and add as you see fit!

I've not got it either :(

Just remembered my logon details for www.studentsupportdirect.co.uk.

Didn't get full grant on my tuition fees so have to pay £525 this year ;/

Got just over 4k, of which every penny will go on halls accomodation. Will have to finance all of living expenses myself this year it seems. I thought being my 4th year I would have got more :(
