Quickest razor to shave head quickly?

Hello GD,

I shaved my head today for the first time and decided to use my double edge/safety razor.

It took me about half and hour and multiple passes for me to get it fairly smooth.

To those of you who razor shave you head what do you use?

I remember seeing a little razor head on wheels a while back but can't find it now. I have also considered normal (e.g. gilette) multiple blade razors but they are not very good for face shaving so I assume the same for head.

Maybe I just need to practice with the safety razor. I have heard about shaving in the shower which I guess may be quicker due to having a constantly wet head.

Dont use a bic, it will cut you to shreds..and a cut head is not what you want.

mach 3 does the job just fine.

Anything with more than 1 blade will clog up and be completely useless on your head hair. Been using BiCs for years on my head and never had a cut.

Youve 'never' had a cut? I find that very hard to believe.

Ive been shaving my head for 13 years now..so quite a while too..and sometimes i rush and cut myself using mach3s...using bics resulted in more cuts..

Completely useless? Have you ever actually tried using one on your head mate? :o Clogged up? Only if youve not shaved for a couple of weeks and the hair is long..and even then you just rinse the blade just as you have to do with a single blade razor.
 
Headblade. I got mine straight from their US store as it amazingly works out cheaper than any UK supplier I could find!

I intend to man up and do it tomorrow after the gym. The biggest thing putting me off is the maintenance, cba to shave every day I thought I escaped that with my beard!
 
I use a Mach3 to do mine, takes about 5 mins if that, never cut myself, it does clog up but with a quick swill in water it soon unclogs, i find BICs awful to use for my head, always nicking myself and it feels rough as hell and i find i have to use a lot of balm or moisturiser afterwards, but with the Mach3 (even though i do use some anyway) i could get away with not using any, i did try a Murker aswell, but i took a big slice out of my head, so never bothered after that.

I quite enjoyed doing it today but I imagine the novelty will wear off soon.

Thanks for all the replies. Think I may have a go with the headblade as I like gadgets and it appears to have great reviews.

EDIT: Which did you order Chris? I am having a look on the site and they seem to be 20gbp plus without shipping. Can get it in the UK for around 15 so not sure if we're looking at same thing.
