Quick'n'dirty pic of my new front end

The more I look at it, the worse it looks. It looks like you've stuck another car onto the front. Especially with the huge panel gap in the middle.

I think the worst thing is the middle set of lights. Just look out of place. :(

Purely for the temp drops it works for me. And I have to admit in the flesh it doesn't look so bad. Still not my cup of tea, but still an awesome car

driving lights

Are you talking about sidelights?

People who drive around in the rain/twilight/dark with them on are always calling them driving lights and living on the edge.

Why are they called driving lights??

Prefer Jon Reeves RX7

Stripped down to a dry weight of almost 1000kgs.
Full FIA Complient Safety Cage
Carbon Bucket Seats
6 Point Safety Harnesses
Fully adjustable Suspension
Slick tyres
1300cc Turbo Charged Rotary Engine (said to be around the far side of 400BHP)

Competes in the Special GT's - Holds the lap record for its class at Combe, and the car has brought home 3 first place wins and 3 second places this year.

Clicky for details on passenger rides in this at Castle Combe tomorrow

Err, all RX7's have a rotary engine, and all FD's are turbocharged. That's like saying 'it has wheels' in a spec list.

And LOL, with that spec, I prefer his rex too ;)

You coming to the RR?

Not sure yet, I don't want to commit just yet hence not putting my name name. But more than likely yes. I think I'm going to have to just to convince everyone it has to be seen in the flesh to appreciate it ;)

That's the thing about the difference between pics and real life, in pics you notice something then just keep staring at it untill it becomes worse and worse, like if you stare at yourself in a mirror for long enough you end up looking like a characature of yourself. The gap honestly doesn't look as bad IRL, not because you don't see it (you do), but IRL you tend too look at it all as a whole, and it works. The bumper gives the car a massive presence, it looks really aggresive. Yeah, it's not 'pretty', but I'm fine with that.

Like I said, the only thing I'm really dubious about is the lower driving/fog/spot lights.

But hey, I knew it would get all kinds of comments, it's no problem :)

As you said- lose the lower lights and your on to a winner.

EDIT- It does look a bit wonky, left side (right on pic) looks higher than the right, but I'm sure thats just the pic.

From a functional point of view, it looks awsome. Obviously we need better pics. :D

I think its just the middle lights and the gap for me. Nothing a bit of 'drift scar' repairing gaffer tape couldn't cover. ;)

I still say do this:

I do like that bumper, but seems a bit messy at the front with your headlights and not the pop up headlights, so I reckon either lose the lights on the new bumper or go back to pop ups.

He might need some indicators somewhere along the line... :p

I remember when you sold the scoob & got this car, it looked so sleek, understated and sexy. I'm going to reserve full judgement until you post some decent photos, but from what I can see, it looks nowhere near as nice as it did.

Would look miles better with the pop ups or a a set of non pop up 'smooth lens' headlights IMHO.

What makes it look odd to me at the moment is theres just so many 'cluster's of lights, all different in terms of shape - the S2000 esque indicator bits, and the front driving lights are okay to my eyes, but then you've got those bulging 'frog eye' things, which are just so completely different from the shape of the indicator lens and overall curves of the car that the overall 'look' is just disjointed. I can understand how such variety gives it a certain menacing ugliness and presence, but it'd look so much better with headlights that were the originals, or were a smooth shape that blended in with the original curves more and were a little more like the indicators.

Efini (of SW-PC, Drex) has the same lights as you (non pop up jobbers) and I hate them with a passion, they ruin the sleek lines of the car. I personally like everything bar the main lights. :)

Edit: Oh my, Re-Amemiya lights are pure porn.

I'm going to take out one of the lights to use as an airfeed too. Oh yes.
