Quidco

How does the tracking on these sites work anyway?

Cookies,

Qudico / TCB send you to an affiliate link to the shopping site.

When you complete the purchase the merchant reports this to the Affiliate Network, who they pay.

The tracking is often in the form of JavaScript or a 1 pixel image shown on the success page of the checkout.

Sometimes it goes wrong. I got £20 from Alliance & Leicester although I didn't complete the deal for a new savings account.

I bought a second iPhone and got £100 through Quidco.

Didn't even use the iPhone, unlocked it and sold it on. :D

Months, but if it did not track and you had to put a ticket in, much longer and even then its less likley to ever payout.

You allways have to be very carefull to visit the cashback site last to keep the cookies valid.

Best to do all research using your normal browser then use a second (like IE) to visit the cashback site then make the purchase.

well it does say tracked on it so i guess there is still hope.......i guess IE can come in use after all :p

thanks for the advice.

Dont quite follow...last time I used quidco I think there site said remove all cookies then start again Iam using FF btw

I've just started using Quidco, but not having much luck with tracking.

I've had to submit an earnings enquiry and still waiting for it to be accepted/denied.

I'm using Firefox and removed all cookies before beginning.

I'll try using IE from now on as stated above.

Anyone else have reliability issues with transactions not tracking?

TCB rules, I used Quidco for a few years, but TCB offers the same or sometimes better %, no annual fee and their payment process is a doddle.

Saved £20 over the Christmas period alone, can't wait to use all the utilities ones when I move in a few months.

it happens, i missed out of £40 as they said another link had been paid out on the tracking even though i had cleared my cookies, once its closed. Its closed :( sometimes it just happens

I prefer to use TopCashBack. They tend to have either the same or more cashback and they don't take any money off you like Quidco do.

I can't be bothered to sign up to both TCB and Quidco. I just use Quidco, I often check when making a purchase to see the difference and most of the time there isn't and on the odd occasion I found quidco is giving 1% or more difference in my favour.

Still, great idea to save cash. Absolutley love it. Since November 2009 I have earned £160 quid. It is essentially free money for buying stuff online. Love it!

Used quidco for the past year, made £286 so far, anything i can buy through them, i have done.

Insurance gave my £60 cash back which made my quote rediculously cheap, the jersery based retailer is my main source of cashback though.

Had a quick glance at TCB but their cashback from O2 doesn't seem to be as much as Quidco (unless I just looked at the wrong time, I know how it can change).
I'm currently using O2 for broadband and mobiles and I'll probably switch to them when they launch their home phones. All-in I think I have received around £350 cash back from them/Quidco in the past 18 months :D

Run "firefox.exe -profilemanager", then you can create a new firefox profile to use when you are making purchases through quidco.
That way you don't have to worry about clearing the cookies on your main profile.

I lost a friend because of quidco. He was buying a new mobile and quidco had deals of £150 cashback. Which I was willing to split with him 50/50 (or even more for him). In the end he backed out as he doesn't trust them, thought they would spam him etc. Turns out he doesn't even buy things on the internet or on his card as he's so paranoid. Loser.

I earnt about £500 in the last 13 months to date.

Why would your friend want to split the money with you in the first place! He may as well sign up for his own account and get all of the cashback (-£5). You didn't lose a friend over quidco, you lost a friend cause you wanted to make a quick buck from him.

I was going to split it 50/50 or even 60/40 in his favor. He was convinced he was going to get spam through the post and text messages from Quidco etc. Sigh.

He wouldn't sign up as he won't even use his credit card online. And it was money for nothing, so I don't see why 50% isn't a fair deal.
