R.I.P Coolio

Heart attack according to my wife. I haven't read about it yet. I don't know much about him apart from some of his songs but he seemed a decent guy, unless some one can prove that wrong.

I remember seeing Coolio many many moons ago after his Big Brother stint at our local nightclub. That night he was bottle off stage and members of his entourage got into quite the scuffle with half the crowd. Not a proud night for our town for sure. RIP!

It's a shame he died so young.

I remember that he was part of that generation of rappers that brought rap on to the mainstream music scene. Before then rap music was on one of those niche charts.

RIP

Gangsters Paradise was the only song I knew of his, but it was a good song.

I remember that well in 1995. It was a summer tune was it not, at least that I always remember it in art class before the summer or just after the school summer holidays.

Ah it was, August 8, 1995. It was on all the time on the radio that I remember in art class.

Coolio was 31 then.

First album I bought I recall, it was a core part of my teen years in the 90s - On one side you had the G Funk era with their smooth beats and lyrics about turf wars and hoes, then you had Coolio with funky hair and crazy rhymes about his life.

May he rest in gangsters paradise.
He never thought he'd live to see 24 because they way things were going he didn't know!
