My cat died 
I'm actually not that upset, it's been coming quite a while now and he'd been on special food for months. Today however the catty hospital finally ran out of options to fix the poorly lad and he was sent off peacefully. I'm actually more concerned about my parents than him to be honest. Me and my sister have been gone a couple of years now so they've loved having him round the house keeping them company, my Dad especially so when my Mum is away for work.
He was more like a dog than a cat really, following people around the house and running to the door excited at the prospect of new people and extra attention. Only 2 weeks ago he was right as rain and scratching the hell out of my arm, now he's gone. Spend time appreciating your pets, you never know when they'll be gone for good.
