A shooting on Detroit’s northeast side early Tuesday morning has left a well known Detroit rapper and another man dead.

The shooting occurred on 8 Mile Rd. Rap artist Proof and another man were both shot to death at the Triple C club, at around 4:30 a.m.

Police are investigating the scene, and there has been word yet of suspects or motives.

Proof is a member of the rap group D12, and a close friend of Eminem’s.

It has been reported that Proof was the best man at Eminem’s recent wedding to Kim Mathers.

R.I.P :(

You'd think these peeps would have enough money now to move out of the ghetto.

Still, its a senseless waste.

But if they did what would they have to rap about?

Blimmin' Gangstas and their guns! It seems like shooting someone in the head is just the same as giving someone a punch!
RIP to him though, although when you hang round in the "ghetto" crowds its probably not a suprising thing to happen!

not really heartless, just making a connection with Eminem and the film 8 mile

Heartless saying "you have to laugh" when someones murdered, its not ironic either since its where he grew up and lived.

Maybe its me but i just dont see whats to laugh about.

Or they could stop rapping the same thing all the time and stop invading my ears with their rubbish :)
Proof cleverly noted, "Despite his genius, Jerry Garcia died from drugs, stress, and poor diet. At one time or another we all struggle through one of those things, so in a way, we all have a little Jerry Garcia in us." The album's scrupulous amalgamation of hard-core hip hop, reckless rock, and thoughtful jazz with live instruments lays bare his soul and undeniable skill. "I want to show that you can talk about more than one thing in hip hop. Rapping about cars and your Rolex is played out," says the MC. "You can be different and still be successful."

I dont think you have to laugh at all, thats pretty heartless. A sad loss to the community.

Yes. Because no doubt he did lots for the community. Like helping little old ladies across the street. Before punching them in the head and robbing them.

Probably.

Guys, this is sad very sad. :(

Also, one of the main reasons why the guys in hip hop wont leave their area is because they grew up there, have their friends there and would lose a lot of respect (Like 50cent has)

Sad loss, lets hope it is the last.

As for the old woman comment, things like that happen everywhere, for instance where i am from this past week their has been two stabbings and a few guns shot, and to finish off a 61 year old innocent man injured.

So does that mean because that what happens in my area thats probaly what i do?

I could talk about hip hop and live all day as both are my main intrest.

RIP

I Dont think D12 are especially talented, i dont believe Proof was either. However getting shot is hardly fair, I wonder what the motive was.
