R.I.P Tina Turner

I'll just leave this here in her memory. Her Finest performance, Rest in peace Madam :(

Yea I agree actually, not really into Tina Turner as such but this song is quality, a band called Ghost did a cover of it, pretty good as well.

Edit: realise you mean the movie rather than specifically the song, the movie was ok.

I remember there was a year in the mid-2010s, around 2015 I think where celebs were dropping out like flies. It seems to be happening again now.

A few of her hits I did like (my favourite being "The Best"), but what I'll remember her most is for her part in Mad Max 3 (Beyond Thunderdome).

RIP.

It is getting to that time where a lot of the big hitters from the 70's and 80's are just getting old I am afraid. Even the 90's popular acts are all getting to or in their 60's.

I was fixing the roof on our porch yesterday and Simply the Best came on my Spotify playlist then I herd the news from my missus as she loved a bit of Tina. For me as someone who was born in the mid 80's I find it very hard to listen to any music past the mid 00's. The stuff out now is not even fit enough to lace up the boots with some of Tina's hits.

As someone born in the early 80s, I find today's music rubbish. Stuff in the charts is X feat Y feat Z.

Doubt today's music will be played in 40 years time, let alone 40 weeks.

wonderful emotive fluid voice - ? partially built from adversity real life experience/Ike relationship

not seen this before

hadn't realised simply the best , even private dancer were other's songs, thought that latter might have been about Ike exploitation.

Tina didn't write a large number of songs but sang quite a few cover versions and had a number written for her. Simply the Best was first recorded by Bonnie Tyler, Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival and Private Dancer was given to her to record by Mark Knopfler. Nutbush City Limits was written by her.

Saw her perform in a modest venue before she became really famous as a solo artist was amazed at the amount of energy she put into her performance and she wasn't young then. She had been ill with various health related issues including receiving a donated kidney from her husband about 5 years or so ago so wasn't entirely surprised by the news. RIP

:(

R.I.P

I saw lots of stuff trending about her but never at one point did it say she died . Very saddened by this sort of trending on social media.

Another one gone :(. Amazing woman and so talented.

@OP thanks for posting this.
