You should be getting a video signal from the GPU even without any drivers installed. If you have your monitor connected to the mobo then you are using the iGPU of the 4770k.

Make sure you have the latest motherboard bios and that the card is seated properly with both 8 pin power connectors plugged in securely.

Updated Bios from v4 to v6 :)

Is this the same as a 6+2 pin?

Good shout wazza, forgot those cards have dual bios :)

Also, it'd be worth using the optimized defaults in the motherboard bios as well, after its updated to the latest :)

Done, always load optimized defaults :)

I think there is something funny going on, when I connect two 6+2 pin connectors to the graphics card I am now having trouble getting any display at all and so no boot to Windows.

Ive even tried connecting a Molex to 8pin and the same.

Its getting late now so gonna have to regroup and take a look, maybe just pull the card out and check everything out. Hope its not a RMA job :o

Am i correct in reading you havent installed your motherboard/chipset drivers yet? If so pretty sure that will be your problem.

Should be windows - mboard drivers - let windows update itself - gcard drivers thats the order ive always installed anyway!

Success!

-> Tried the bios switch this morning (I assume is the little S button above the Sapphire logo), but this made no difference.

-> Remove the graphics card and reseated it, no difference

-> At this stage I noticed the MemOk! at the top constantly red, So I have removed the 1st and 3rd ram sticks and now I booted into Windows, CCC is now installed :)

Now I am going to put the two ram sticks back in and see if there are any problems...

Ram back in and all seems good so far :)

Maybe one of the modules was not seated properly or something causing instability. Really I should not have flashed the bios if there was instability but it had to be done if it solved the problem.

Cheers for your help everyone ;)
