R9 290X Owners Thread

Whats wrong with the 290X with the Kraken watercooler attached?

I actually love the look of it and being a complete noob at watercooling, I think it's a good way to go, I also have a H100 cooling my CPU

Woah woah

Let me say this which ahs been bugging me for a long time and i have not been allowed to proclaim it in the WCing forum due to the number of hate posts i would likely get back.

All in one loops are NOT watercooling. They are an alternative to air but definitely not watercooling. If you can call AIO loops water cooling, than i can call AMD reference cooler a Vapour cooler!

I always thought the WCing forum was the best place to post that :D
The brotherhood is strong there ;)

You underestimate the number of heretics hiding in the case gallery!

TBH i think WCing forum should be for just custom loops, as the AIO users have better luck posting in the overclocking and cooling subsection, where there is actually a greater number of AIO users.

Yes i never quite understood why ocuk made AIO users post in the water cooling section all of a sudden.

Genuine LOL :D

Well, I don't suppose it hurts to let them think they're in the club.

Wow, I never realised I was such an elitist ****, but there you go eh?

I think it's just that when you have the realisation of how easy and beneficial it is to have water blocks and adequate radiator-age, it's difficult not to put emphasis on just how in vain peoples overclocking efforts are on air /AIO :p

We've all trodden the same path so it shouldn't be offensive :p

But unlike air cooling AIO looks stupid as fuark lol

Yer, never mind AMD Vs nVidia, Water cooling is elite and AIO coolers can do one and air coolers....Pfffft, don't get me started, they may as well buy a console and be done with it :p

Tell the truth, I was originally going to say "Wow, I never realised I was such an elitist ****. Next thing you know, I'll be rocking Nvidia". But I'm not that brave though :D
What

Beefy air coolers>AIO btw ;)

Haha, i didn't think of myself as elitist but going by what i have said so far, i suppose i am.

Just think its a little silly going into the custom cooling section and seeing 5 posts asking how they should mount their h100i to their case.

70C @ 1.5v

MSI, you've done well.

Shame the scores still a bit ****e. Ordered block :p

60c and quiet as a mouse with no adjustment to the stock fan profile.

Spent a short while finding gaming clocks. This cooler really does just lap it up as though Hawaii is a cool runner.

In contrast although it is an amazing cooler - it is also probably a testament to how bad the reference cooler really is lol.

With the reference cooler before it died.
