Race Driver: Grid

OK had a few laps of this and am very impressed with this game, had a problem with the Logitech G25 software though. On re-install went straight to the latest software and it hung on detection of the wheel, repeated the install (re-imaged) just to check and it does it again. Got it sorted in the end by re-imaging back to a newer image that had the original G25 disc software installed, uninstalled that then re-installed with the latest version and all is prefect, FF working very nice and I am in the process of tuning the deadzone and saturation levels to my personal taste.

Overall a 9 out of 10 from me, a nine because I can't be bothered with all this unlocking codes to get different cars. I would prefer if they just gave you the game with all the cars. I do not need an incentive to keep playing a good game such as this.

Dont know why but It seems boring to me, just something missing, makes me want Gran Turismo to come to the PC even more now.

All its missing for me is car upgrades, custom skins and car tuning/setup... oh and fuel usage+tyre wear... Oh wait, maybe i just want a sim rather than Arcade racer. :p

Having fun regardless. :)

Not wagging my finger at you by any means but you should have pre-ordered it to stand any chance of getting it today (I am sure they do this on purpose, short supply usually increases demand for any product). I am sure you will pick up a copy in the next day or so. Do get it though it is a really good game and worth the price (in my opinion).

You can wag your finger all you like, but you cant have your pre-order filled if the shop havent had any stock delivered!!!

Ive had it pre-ordered for well over a month, but no stock, no good. Getting it from elsewhere tomorrow or whenever I get round to it instead

I actually found it easier to use the keyboard than my G25. :-/

Then you clearly havent got the G25 setup correctly. Under no curcumstances should the digital on/off nature of a keyboard perform better than the analouge smooth movement of a pad or wheel and pedals when playign a racing game. Especially one like Grid where flooring the trottle is an instant spin.

Many have major issues with the G25 for now, its simple the way Codemasters make their games (seem to be plugging the 360 controler) same with D1RT.

There is lots of info on their forums and the 1st patch will fix it.

Is it me or is the customary starting grid pile up or first corner pile up not the funniest thing ever !
I cant help but rofl when i manage to avoid the pile ups voip would make this game hilarious imo

lets hope wheel users don't spoil another racing game by being 10 seconds faster than anyone else nothing worse than having to shell out
£150 just to be competative in an online racer I hope they add gamepads only option on the server list.
I am glad you're G25's don't work :)

My G25 is working fine with this game sorry to upset you.:D

I'm having a nightmare now with this game. :(

I can't get anywhere with the first championship cos I'm so slow down the straight! I can get into the lead after the corners but the straights are so long that I end up 9th by the finish line. The steering's gone all pants too, like really twitchy.

Is it suppose to be like that or is there something wrong with my controller? I never had any of this trouble with the demo. I hope I can get it sorted or this game's going in the bin!
