Race Driver: Grid

You can really out-brake opponents on corners, especially on 'serious' difficulty. The 1st car is pretty rubbish, but that's only to be expected. The very first US championship shouldn't be that difficult, but the second one, second race is the one i'm having difficulties with. Then it's just a case of getting some money to get a better car, i guess, I am tempted to try the car code I got, though.

Minting, my PC copy just arrived.

Looks like the weekend will be gooood afterall. ;)

EDIT: All the bonus codes are all over the net aswell. :p

I've fiddled around with the controls a bit. It seems that it was set up differently to the demo . and it's a bit better now but I can't help feel that it shouldn't take this much messing about to get it playable.

There's still something not right about the controls in this game. TOCA3 feels much better to play than this I reckon.

Still, it looks purdy.

The exact same thing happend to me, on my original xbox controller. Plugged in my xbox 360 controller and everything was perfect.

Yeah, I reckon this game has been designed specifically for the 360 controller. I'm not buying one just for this game.

HOW TO DISABLE THE OVER THE TOP BLUR/BLOOM EFFECTS

These really were starting to get on my cod piece so after looking around, I found the following fix:

Change the values of BLUR and POSTPROCESSING in the following file to false instead of true.

documents\codemasters\grid\hardwaresettings then edit the hardware_settings_config.xml

I never touched the GFX settings. When I played it first everything was MAX and proper resolution. First ever game to do that on my setup. Runs fine for me too, probably about 40-50FPS from watching it, not sure though- not that I care.

Wow, played over an hour now in total online and noticed some major annoyances.

Some cars must be made of foam because not only can you smash the hell out of them and they keep on going with the only damage being visual, but also if you lightly tap them you go flying off the track into the wall/barriers etc.

People on the official forums were complaining the brakes are too good, I must be playing a different game because for me many cars don't even have brakes, you press the button/trigger and nothing happens.

Europeans can't just race, they've got ram all the time.

And finally, why did CM make it so that a wrecked car stays on track until you choose what you want to do next?!?

Other than that, I love it. The destruction derby is much better than I expected, and a good laugh.
