Race Driver: Grid

Is it just me that finds that the LMP1 cars have rubbish grip around sweeping corners? E.g. final third section of Le Mans. The AI cars seem to be able to nail it round them without lifting off it seems.
 
24 h of le mans is probably the most boring racing experience I've ever had anyway. Playing on pro it's just a case of drive a bit until someone runs you off the road and go into 16th and get the lowest prize possible...
 
I give up on this game now. Can't get it to run for more than a few minutes without it crashing to desktop. So far I've tried:-

Official Nvidia drivers
174.70 drivers
Updated DirectX (from Guru3d)
Defrag + CCleaner ran
Changed Particles from Ultra to High
Tried various AA settings from x2 -> x8
Applied v1.1 patch

Still crashes. :( Yet I can run any other game fine??? I'm going to try bumping up the VCORE on the CPU. But after trawling through the Codemasters forums there seems to be a lot of 8800 users + Vista = Crash to Desktop.
 
Before the patch the only issues I had were Stuttering in the Menu's (same as many on CM Forums), and I could not even take 1 corner nevermind complete a race with a Logitech Wireless Rumblepad 2 (same as many on CM Forums).

Patched listed above controler was now supported and I can finally enjoy the game but the Patch has made the Game break on Exit, where it sticks as a task running that I must kill manually to run it again (same as many on CM Forums).

I have also lost the option to set the RES to 1920x1440, and so far nothing I have edited gets me this RES back, so stuck with 1600x1200 for now.

I noticed that, since the patch when it would restart fine to apply graphical changes it will now just hang in task manager. So I have to end it and start it up again. Still applies the changes, but that never used to happen.

Interesting you mention the Logitech Pad. I use a Logitech Pad, not the one you mention. I wonder if I try playing with Keyboard.... hmmm, will it crash?

Well my game never crashed before or after patch, I simply could not control the car prepatched with my controler, it was all over the place.

I do need exit game, then kill Grid.exe in Task Manager every time since the Patch though.

The keyboard is digital (on or off) you will go lock to lock on the Steering (part of my problem on my pad before patch).
 
I've been playing this for around 8 hours since yesterday. No crashes at all on XP Pro with latest 1.1 patch.

I run at 1360x768 on my HD TV with 4xAA and 4xAF. I have had to lower all in-game graphic settings to medium with shadows to low and wind and particles off to get a pretty much constant 60fps, but i've got to say it still looks stunning:

I got a few config files from the CM forums to tone down the bloom and stuff and i think my game looks better for it.

No too sure about the handling as i find it very twitchy. Great game though and i'll be on this for the next few weeks or so.

Is this a new bug for the mp private session list, theres no new page 2 or 3 button or progression it just goes on down the screen after "the stig" game the list continues but the screen doesnt scroll with the highlight bar. So cant see whats below the stig game but there are games i think below it.

 
Wow great ****ing patch. Tried to join 2 games so far, been disconnected from both on the loading screen. After waiting forever for the race to end, people to return to garage, vote and ready up, I had to exercise some serious restraint in order not to smash my controller through my screen.

Think I might just go back to trackmania, which is like 95% racing compared to the 50% racing and 50% waiting around (assuming you don't get wrecked and the race is more than 2 laps) of grid.

Never has a game made me so angry :S. And that's before you take into account the wreckers.

I bought the game and have installed the new patch then i downloaded the no cd crack and it works with no problems at all.
 
I would guess he meant on launch of Patch 1.1.

It did take about 24 hours for a new No/DVD 1.1 to appear.

Its a shame today games can be that buggy peeps who buy legit even need use NoCD/DVD's to get games to play without lag (not saying this game, just in general).
 
I have never had a single problem with the game!

I must be special. I'll be quiet now, don't wanna rock the boat. I just thought you always hear about the bad things might be nice to hear some nice things for a change.
