Race Driver: Grid

Nope, by season 10 ive get every available car in the game, im getting ~700k/event in sponsorship money plus the prize money itself and have about 50mill in the bank with nothing to spend it all on.
That's it then, I will skip the race until I have enough money to buy a top class car.

But does the sponsorship money ramp up quite quickly later on?
I have finished season 3 and have under a million and only get ~50k in sponsorship money for a win.

Just checked, 84mill in Bank, 64mill spent on Cars, 6.1mill Global Rep.

The cash from sponsors must ramp up quickly, my best sponsor is B&O who give me £100k alone (for top 2 finish) which is doubled for being in postion 1 and then also i get a cut of what my teammate earns.

Nearly got kicked because someone checked my stats & said i must have been cheating because my champion rank with only 12 races.

I said like i hacked the on-line server

Just been playing with the 1.2 Patch online on a session with assists off & its a different game & very hard & heart pounding experience...Love IT :D

Anyone here using a DFP with this game? I recently got one and just can't get the settings right to make it driveable. The game seems really twitchy and there's no sense of grip.
Spec is in sig, runs the game around 35fps with occasional drops, but I know this isn't a problem. Got the latest patch and latest DFP drivers. Not using wingman software, and wheel is set to 450 deg in control panel, which I happily use on LFS, GTR2, rFactor etc.

In game i've tried changing the linearity and saturation with no real result.

Any ideas?

One thing I don't understand about slipstreaming in this game, it doesn't actually seem to make you go any faster.

E.g. my Mazda prototype seems to max out at 258mph, but that's the same on an open straight, or one where I'm drafting right in behind another car..

Ive noticed this to, many times ive been going down a long start/finish straight and been right up the rear of someone ready for a sling shot but nothing happens. Maybe its the lag factor or something. Cant remember if its the same in single player

I think slipstreaming is not useful in this game, sometimes I get a message from my team saying 'Nice slipstreaming' but I don't gain any extra speed (or very little at the most)

Was enjoying this game online until i came across blockers:mad: why go on a game and just block a corner or drive round the opposite way wiping people out.

Thats why i only play the demolition derby mode on ranked servers as its expected,if you want decent races you have to do them private but even that feature is screwed in Grid.

i still think this game uses catch up and not slip streaming, i can be leading easily and cars behind still catch up even if there to the side of you, spoils races, i want a pro mode choice.

How many of you have raced enough to understand how little slip streaming actually affects a car I wonder? I definitely notice a slight catch-up effect of sorts when slip streaming in the game, which feels just about right.

Daytrader, you can disable 'catch up' in online mode preferences and that won't happen.

Obviously they need a way to generate a slipstream effect, and the game tries it's best to replicate that by making a zone behind the car in which a 'catch up' effect will be enabled.

I'm guessing to truly replicate a slipstream model would require some very technical coding, far beyond what people expect of an arcade racer.

yeh i only play on catch up off servers but i do still notice/think its slightly on, might be in my mind thou.

On-line can have assist Off now but it don't show up in the searches you ether create one or you join a server & change server until you find one with assist off but you have to start a race to know.

But if you set it to disabled in your search, you will know that all servers displayed are compatible.
