It was anywhere from lowish 40's when there were a grid full of cars and smoke ahead of me to 60fps with nothing but road ahead. Strange that I couldn't tell before, I'm usually quite in tune with FPS.

I'll try it with a lower resolution later to see if it makes much of a difference.

I wonder if the fps is capped somehow?

Damn i love the muscle cars. Just had an epic 7 lap race against some german guy, neck and neck all the way until he miscalculated and totalled himself coming off the big slope

I probably could have taken him sooner but I have grown weary of pulling alongside people... everyone seems to want to sideswipe me into the damn walls :mad:

Done some screenshots with fraps, playing at 1920x1200 with everything on high or or ultra, 4xmsaa, bloom off.

Q6600@3200 and a 9800 gtx overclocked.

Pics 50% resized,my best lap is 1.16.33

Rotter, any chance you know what types of racing are going to be in the game. Is rally, F1 or anything very different going to be in there?

If you want Rally you play DiRT (although I remember TOCA 3 having a few MG Rally stages. If you want F1 you wait til next year for the codies F1 game

does taking bloom off increase performance......regretting buying 22" monitor last year as cant run the latest games at 1680x1050, and cant afford to upgrade my system atm...

#and in toca 3 wasn't there bmw f1 series?

some with bloom on, also blur on, which makes it look a bit pap, also fraps taking pics every 3 secs knocks 7 fps off.

I don't like it with bloom off completely. We just need a proggy to turn it down a bit I think

I've definately seen some sort of open-wheel car in one of the videos. It might have been an F3 car, there won't be any F1 cars in Grid though. There's Le Man as well.

Loving the game so far, been playing it on the 360 and PC. Would love to know how people are getting into the 1min 13's for the BMW competition. I can get into the 14's but to find another second seems impossible!

Sweet! Don't care if if its F3, GP2 or F1, as long as theres open-top racing in there, LeMans sounds brilliant too!
Can't wait for this game, especially as I'm getting a wheel soon!

although I tend to mess up the corners inside view, braking too late and oversteering, although I drive brill on outside view, but find it worse..

i like the bonnet view, play it with a 360 pad, pretty good fun.

Did you get that 1:14 on the 360? If so have you tried to match it on the PC? I'm curious to know if the 360 and PC version really do have slight handling differences. Don't want to tare my hair out trying to knock two seconds off if it's impossible.

Codemasters have just got the rights to F1, expect a game dedicated to it in the future.

I can only play in cockpit view, same in Dirt. I suppose it's what you're used to. My times are good in this view, but I imagine it would be helpful to see if you are about to clip anyone on the inside of a corner in 3rd person.
