Race Driver: Grid

Anyone else not able to set a resolution?
No matter how many times I change it in the demo it allways goes back to 640x480.

Good game though, may buy it.
Too many people purporsly crashing or trying to run you off the track though.

Mr. Latte.

From the above post, it seems you have a 7.1 speaker setup. Do all the speakers work as they should?:

tbh i just output in stereo from the PC and upscale it via my AV hardware.
I use Prologic II X or sometimes 7 channel stereo with my PC.

Im not sure many games still support 7.1 EAX and if thats compatible with HDMI now rather than multichannel which was always a pain in the back side.
Still PLII X isnt that bad tbh of upscaling stereo into 7.1 effects. It may not be what the games designers intend or be accurate to say what EAX would offer but its more envolving than 2 channel stereo.

btw thanks Ian.

What are people's lap time in the BMW race? My fastest so far was 1:19:06 :D

P.S Thanks, mr. Latte. I have the 5.1 all working now. :D:D

I would be well up for an OCUK race, see where everyone stands as it seems we all have pretty similar lap times (between 1:15 and 1:19) which in a race would make for very close racing.
Presume we would wait for the full game to come out as can imagine it would be easier to set up using a private game etc.

Once the game is out and we've had a mess around with it I'm sure some OCUK races can happen. I just gotta do my A level first

Loving this game with my new steering wheel (Saitek r440.) Now that I've learnt how to drive (I don't drive in real life) its a lot more smoother than a joypad, which means that coming out of corners you can have a lot more speed than others.

Also as some have stated before, you can easily get a few meters off the start line by pulling away correctly. However, this is very rarely helpful if you start on the right hand side in the USA race

Not sure why this is but can someone else check.

I tried running in 1080p res with the 16x AA & ?? etc (whatever it is)
Seems on this game it doesnt effect frames that much. I was playing with 4xAA and then 8xAA and cant say on the Los Angeles track that i noticed any major frame rate difference.
Has me wondering if its really working now, mmm but surely the applications settings would override any global setting i may have in the nNvidia settings.
Looks brill though...

Look forward to this and online too.

According to Codemasters, the game will have us eating the dust of up to 11 other racers at once on some 32 different online racing events spread across 80 circuits and 15 different global locations. The devs also note that care has been taken in "maximizing" the time spent actually racing, while keeping the minutes spent in lobbies idling in neutral at a minimum. Of course, our driving skills, or rather lack thereof, have us more interested in what the Codies call "full car damage," which will be able to be turned on or off. The laundry list of features also includes the ability to download ghost cars of top drivers to race against as well as a spectator mode, you know, for those of us who learn by watching instead of doing

Looking forward to some OcUK races:) trying different setups at the moment with tc off/on etc,but my best time for bmw is 1:16:34 with 360 pad, when i can get a clean lap in that is.

I hope there is a "cat and mouse" game built in, but the demolition derby mode sounds like a hoot... From what i remember the OcUK Xboxlive crowd were always great at making our own Demolition Derby type events. :)

I will be able to buy the full game on the 6th of next month as that's when we get it here in SA.

Can't wait to have a crack at it online!

Does anyone know what other races we will see in the full version?
