Again, sitting pretty here on vista64 with latest nvidia drivers :|
Just been reading over at CM forums and it seems like a lot of people having problems after the patch... before i install it i was wondering if there is any way to backup my grid profile ? I really don't wanna have to replay the game again if it manages to corrupt my save, like it has with others.

Ofcoarse there is way to backup SAVES.
Copy and paste the SAVE folder to your desktop and then update game, if it messed up your saves simply copy paste a new copy back.
In Vista SAVES are here : C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Codemasters\GRID
Also could be under YOUR NAME instead of ADMIN, depends on how you installed Vista.

Yeah, the patch has ruined the game. Get awful lag which was not there before.
Edit: After going back into into "options" and setting ALL the advanced settings back to ultra, it is silky smooth again.

just go into your documents, codemasters file,grid, then save the two folders, thats what i did

At least the menus are smooth as now
According to someone on the official forum, they haven't fixed the choppy shadows.
Just installed the patch and.................all shadows look lush now.........just like my driving!
Change of subject slightly........For some reason I cant turn left/right, but all my other controls work fine. Ive tried a momo wheel and a logic3 ps pad and its the same for both. Ive assigned them in my profile and nothing.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem??

I play with a keyboard. So yes it is hard but I am getting better. I prefer the cars with better traction.
Still a great game!
tis a brill game, only got the demo, but even on an x1950 agp it'l stay above 20fps all times, great performance, and loving it with the xbox360 controller... drift is really good.. on the drift map on the demo 10 million combo.. lets see someone beat that

It is if you turn off all the assistants, you cant just slam on the gas and expect to take corners 80MPH...

I had no trouble pre-patch and I don't use most assists, post-patch they handle like cruise liners!!

Quite a few up at the moment, too many in fact. It's a new bug, the list runs outside the box.
