Racing game for a beginner

One of my favourite track and car combos is the Caterham classic on california highway in project cars. Long track, full of twisty bits and a reasonably forgiving car if you take it easy on the throttle round corners.

Is there a better track/car combination that I can test my novice skills on? :p
In Assetto Corsa:

BMW E30 M3 Group A/DTM - a very fun and forgiving car that you can learn the basics with without it punishing you all the time for small mistakes.

A lot of the Lotus' are good, too. I'd recommend the Evora GTE and the Exige 240R for cars with great handling and not too much power.

I would also recommend setting Traction Control and ABS settings to 'Factory', rather than off. There's no shame in using the aids that the cars actually have in real life. Some cars are just a serious handful without them.

Monza is good for starting out as there's only a couple of tricky corners to master.
The problem with Monza is that every corner is tricky. And there's not a ton of corners, which means that messing up just one usually costs a ton of time.

Hitting precise braking points is pretty key for Monza and a beginner is probably going to have a hard time judging this because not only is their braking technique likely to be subpar, but they will probably arrive into the braking zone at different speeds every lap since they're new and are probably not getting optimum exits from the previous corner.

I've been doing sim racing for quite a while and I still find Monza a handful to master.
