Here updated and specific specs for the 480/470/460. Safe to say Wiz at techpowerup has the official specs from AMD. 32 rops it is then.

Stop this man. You're coming across like a wishful thinking fanboy here trying to pass off unconfirmed information as absolute fact with a level of certainty that is completely unjustified. Here updated and specific specs for the 480/470/460. I don't give a crap about cool, I want to know how this will impact the card performance wise. Does it mean that using AA will impact the card, or z-buffer issues due to limited rops etc?
Why are they reducing ROPS? You would think that there would be a push for 128 ROPS on the higher end cards, and the mid-range would be pushing 64 by now, unless they were being utilized less, or the compute parts could do the same task etc.... Can anyone explain why please?
a 215 pound card will cost you 269 euro inc shipping (just checked)
Cheaper if the pound keeps falling
last week a 215 pound card would have cost you at least 290 euro inc shipping
Unfortunately some stock has not landed and some is on account basis so will be booked at the new rate.
In short nothing but a disaster as this has a very negative impact on prices as now everything goes up!!!![]()

So what does this mean, how does only 32 rops affect gaming? Surely this must have an impact in some games?
Nothing is confirmed til AMD or official reviews say so.Confirmed.
I'd say that hasn't been their strong suit at all, and is more Nvidia's realm. We'll find out. AMD can be very cunning and lean down chips without affecting the performance

Seriously, you are embarrassing yourself now.
No one is getting angry. You're simply acting unjustifiably smug and trying to pass off rumors/leaks as confirmed fact when it's anything but.Who do you think updates the techpowerup GPU database? that's right the guy that reviews the GPUs for them. As good as confirmed.
Now I'm sorry the hype train just took a knock but there is really no need to get angry.
would 64 rops actually make a difference over 32 in gaming or would the card bottleneck somewhere else first
We'll find out. AMD can be very cunning and lean down chips without affecting the performance - the 7870 also only has 32 ROPs and it was never a concern. It does suggest it won't be a monster for super-high resolutions or AA modes, but that's what Vega is for![]()
