Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

Saw a Fury Nitro at 275 dollars and caved and got that. Did I make a mistake in not waiting for the AIB 480's?

I don't think so tbh. Am not sure how the 4GB of HBM memory will do over time though, as games seem to require more and more these days.

You won't be getting £180 480s from this point onwards. The 470 will now take the price of the 4GB 480, at £180.

Erm? no, they are not far from eachother in DX11 while the 480 blows the 1060 out of the water in DX12 and Vulkan.

No way. But i would trade up from a 4GB RX 480 @ £180, to the Sapphire Nitro 4GB RX 480 @ 199 (if i hadn't yet taken delivery of the reference one).

Yeah definitely. Was going to message Sapphire and see what their stance is (in warranty terms) on installing an aftermarket GPU cooler.

Even then, aftermarket coolers are not exactly cheap, definitely more than the £20 premium between the 2 cards. Unless of course you are referring to installing an aftermarket one on the Nitro board.

Lol at the devil card, look at the end, the pcb ends yet theres some heatsink there and the fan overlaps. WHY! hahahahahahah. Could have just done a 2 fan design and saved a few quid.

Then the PS4 Neo is released with a Polaris GPU in it,and all of a sudden it won't be just GCN1.1 cards which get free optimisations out of the box,LOL.
