Radiohead LP9

It seems the long wait for LP9 may be coming to an end. People have been receiving Burn The Witch post cards this weekend.

AND (duh duh dahhhh) the official Radiohead website is doing an odd fade-out thing at the moment. http://www.radiohead.com/ is something really HAPPENING!!!!? :o

I'm a huge fan, and the wait has been insane... but there might just be light at the end of the tunnel. However, this being Radiohead I'm not counting my chickens.

Edit:::: the site has gone, it just a white blank

Congrats for getting tickets... gold dust for sure. Surely they'll do some more dates here?

So how long will it be before the site changes... is the album coming today, or just an announcement?... maybe a single/video.

Gosh this is exciting.

I'm so glad that Jonny has finally been unleashed - I saw him on tour with the LCO and it was one of the most unique musical experiences I've ever had, and you definitely hear the menace from his There Will Be Blood stuff in this track.

Absolutely... I've just dl'ed the WAV and it a great sounding track. The strings are blooming awesome... Jonny has done good.

I hope the LP continues with this sound, which is a world away from TKOL and as much about Jonny as Thom... I just hope we don't have to wait too long.

The video is inspired... and all the more so if you watched the TV programs this is based on as a kid... you have to be very old though :D ... and yes, I used to watch with my mum.

There's nothing to be that excited about on the basis of those two tracks alone IMO.

I disagree :) I think BTW is one of the best three and a half minutes of music out there, regardless of who its by, and Daydreaming sends shivers down my spine every time I listen to it, and I've played it dozens of times. I don't think I've ever been more excited for an album ever... so there :p

7PM can't come soon enough.

Yep, as usual someone has to jump the gun. Mess-up my bottom :(

So the title?... I like it personally. The reception on the RH channels seems very positive, but glad I waited for the official launch.

20mins to go.

WOW!... and I mean WOW!

One listen and this is (for me) the best RH LP yet.

The vibe man is f awesome.

Its future retro.... It the dogs .........

I'm on my 4th listen.... If this is not considered a masterpiece then I'm lost to this world.

I know six months, or six years, down the line I'll not change my mind... Guys you have done something amazing.

Spirit of Eden... you may have to move one place over.

This is one of the very few LP's that I like (well, love) each and every track. Its certainly the only Radiohead LP for which that's the case.

I tried ordering them, but to be honest its a bit silly as there is very little between them... all are 9+ IMHO and it a bloody masterpice.

The numbers
Daydreaming
Decks dark
Burn the witch
Identikit
Ful stop
Desert island disk
Tinker tailor.....
Present tense
True love waits
Glass eyes

Being experimental and evolving their sound is what makes Radiohead great.

Absolutely... and I never get the 'pretentious' accusations... to me they just seem to love to find new ways of working and creating; how boring would it be if they were just another rock band chucking out the same kind of stuff LP after LP.

To my ears there is nothing that wildly out-there with this release, and some elements are quite conventional... but, there's always a twist to make it interesting.

Weird, my faves so far are Glass Eyes, TLW, Present Tense and Daydreaming.

Anyone else thinks that Burn the Witch doesn't fit on the album? I reckon they should have slapped Spectre on there in place of it.

No, not really... I love BTW but it does need to be at front of the album to work. I think the video imagery sticks with the track and makes it seem different... with another video, or if you hadn't seen it you might think otherwise... maybe :)

I'm glad Spectre was not on it... the sound fits, but it was made for a purpose, and I hear Bond all over it. Why oh why didn't they use it instead of that god awful Smith thing
