Anyone here in Oxford area saw the 5 RAF aircraft flying in formation pretty low earlier today?
Flew right over my street, but I can't ID the aircraft :(

Don't think they were Harriers, but could have been Typhoons or Tornados
Well they could have been Hawks, but I thought RAF ones were blueish in colour and these were that grey typical aircraft colour
(and pretty sure they were not Gripen)

I take it aircraft recognition is not your strong point ;)

One of these ?

I dunno that's the thing, heard the noise during F1, got up, went to window, looked up ... saw 5 of em flying pretty low and in the V formation :(

Didn't see them for long enough to identify what they were, I'm not sure the wings were quite that large though :(

Envious :(

We had a Spitfire do a flypast at work yesterday at about 100ft (yes boohoo me) and someone who works on base (i'm on an RAF base) complained as it did a wing over, over their house. How can you complain about a Spit if you work for the RAF, the idiot couldn't even identify the plane, just said it was grey with the RAF tag =/

They were certainly hauling ass towards either Brize Norton, Fairford or Lyneham.
Never seen them fly over the housing area that low before, do have them train over the fields behind the houses time to time (but we are taking about 1-2miles away from houses usually)

Saw three Tornados, very low the other day. Sounded awesome, sure the novelty will go away when I move to a flying station.

and get woken up at 11oclock with three of them taking off at the same time about 100yards from the your window...

Don't worry, takes a few years but you get used to it :D

Wow they only letting you sleep until 11 now ?

Didn't know the RAF had gone onto a war footing.
