RAGE on console, 360 it is then..

i read some where that sony has given permission for the rage to be installed on the hd

never knew that had to get permission for the ps3 to install to the hdd, seems abit daft really all the ps3's hvae bigger hdds than the 360 as standard, and you can upgrade them more easy.

should give you an option install 25%/50%/75%/100% of the game etc, most i know that had the 40/60gb ps3s have upgraded the drives

You're getting a bit confused. They've got permission from Sony to install 8GB. Which when you think about Blu-ray read speeds, is going to take 1/2 hour to do perhaps. Not something Sony would normally allow.

EDIT: Or it could be to do with space. Early PS3 models with 20GB/40GB/60GB/80GB HDDs are going to be in a spot of trouble if users don't know how to delete unwanted stuff.

Not sure about this tbh, for one I dont have 8gb free on my PS3 nor do I like the idea of 3 discs on the 360 and a possible 22gb install (IIRC). It also comes at a time where I'm still very much playing Gears 3 and only 2 weeks before Batman Arkham City.

Think I'll keep an eye on it and pick it up in the sales next year depending on the reviews.

i really likes this recent vid, check it out

this looks like pc as graphics cant be this good on console

No difference to GT5 which takes 8gb to start with and still installs parts of the game if you allow it

seems a 8gb install is needed on the ps3 theres also the option to fully install it. while the xbox can run off the discs or install bits or all of it.

Thanks for the link, I had a quick peek. I thought this game was supposed to use this new megapixel technology so that textures were high-res. They look like blurry Unreal Engine-type affairs. :( But I guess it could be due to YouTube compression.

You can see the tech John describes in the QC keynote at work there after he leaves the facility and then does a quick about turn. Assuming that's running off the disc since it asks for a swap for multilayer, that's pretty impressive.

Looks like ID have made another absolute monster awesome game engine, just a shame that since Doom 3 most their games have been about showing off their engine rather then being amazing and packed with good gameplay.
High hopes for this one though.

One thing that has put me off and is evident in that first 25 minutes of gameplay is how much damage the enemy takes before going down there was a straight head shot in that clip and he was still getting for more yet on the flip side it only took one melee strike on another :o

in regards to the headshots, i saw plenty of times where the enemy went down when the first or whatever number bullet hit the head

In the youtube comments it now says all discs were installed. The pre order promotion seems a bit confused for this supposedly a free upgrade, but seems to be sold as a separate edition which has gone out of stock at a few places.

None of the game reviewers here got a copy yet? Is there an embargo until tomorrow? Dying to know what scores are on the board.
