RAID 0 causing corruption?

I've just installed a new RAID 0 array of 2x Maxtor 160gb SATA drives, and Im getting a wierd problem. Ive installed XP Pro fine, and all the motherboard drivers off the CD are on and running. I went to download new drivers from the Nvidia site for my gfx card, and when I went to install them I got a message saying the file was corrupt. I downloaded the file again and same thing happened, so I got the beta drivers and the same happened, so I went to the Aopen site as thats the manufacturer of my card and guess what, that file had the same problem. I found a DVD that came with a PC magazine with the drivers on it, and that installed without any problems. Also I downloaded openoffice with Java and it installed ok but then later when it tried to update java, again I got a corrupt file error. Could this be the RAID arrays fault? Thats the only thing Ive changed on my system so Im inclined to blame it. The setup is:
AMD Opteron 146 @ stock
2gb Geil Value RAM
Abit AN8 SLI motherboard
Aopen 7800GTX 256mb GFX
Hiper 580W PSU
Pioneer DVR-106 (I think) DVDRW

All input is welcome because Im completely stuck.

Thanks, George.

I would think that there is virtually no chance of your raid array being the problem. But there is every chance that your system is unstable. Have you done an 8hr run of Memtest ? Have you done an 8hr run of Orthos in Blend mode ?

No and no. I didnt bother because its been 100% stable until I installed the array. I will give that a shot though it cant hurt.

It would be a good idea. The reason i asked, is that from what you have said, all your corrupted installs have come from downloads. Corrupted downloads are a classic symptom of bad ram settings or voltages, or cpu voltage, or a mixture of both. But they can also be caused by a bad Lan driver as well as the wrong MTU setting on the driver or modem.

Well, I stuck my old hard disk back in as it still has my origional windows install, and it seems ok. I downloaded the new nvidia drivers again and they ran fine. Interesting you should mention voltages though, I did recently bump my VCore up to 1.5 from 1.4, but its been solid until I put in the RAID array. Could it be a symptom of me installing the array and windows with the higher Vcore and overclock? I ran the CPU at 2.8ghz from 2.0ghz because I thought it was stable enough with the overclock.

I suppose the answer to that would be to go back to my origional question. Did you run 8hrs memtest and 8hrs of Orthos blend when you had your origional install in place ? If you did'nt, then you could'nt possibly know whether it was stable or not.
